1. Important Safety Instructions

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation (Battery not included)

This tool operates with a 20V Lithium-Ion battery from the Parkside X 20 V Team series. Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.

  • Align the battery pack with the battery interface on the tool.
  • Slide the battery pack into place until it clicks securely.
  • To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery pack out.

3.2 Blade Installation and Removal

Always ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed before installing or removing blades.

  1. To Install: Rotate the blade holder collar counter-clockwise and hold it. Insert the blade fully into the opening until it clicks into place. Release the collar. Gently pull on the blade to ensure it is securely locked.
  2. To Remove: Rotate the blade holder collar counter-clockwise and hold it. The blade will release. Carefully pull the blade out. Be cautious as the blade may be hot after use.

4. Operating the Sabre Saw

Before starting, ensure your work piece is securely clamped and you have a clear cutting path.

  • Starting the Tool: Press the safety lock button (if present) and then squeeze the on/off trigger switch to start the saw. The speed can be varied by the pressure applied to the trigger.
  • Stopping the Tool: Release the on/off trigger switch.
  • Cutting: Place the base plate firmly against the workpiece. Start the saw before making contact with the material. Guide the saw along the cutting line with steady pressure. Do not force the tool; let the blade do the work.
  • Plunge Cutting: For plunge cuts, ensure the base plate is flat against the workpiece. Tilt the saw slightly so the blade tip enters the material first, then slowly pivot the saw until the base plate is flat.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your sabre saw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep the ventilation slots clear of dust and debris.
  • Blade Care: Inspect blades regularly for sharpness and damage. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately. Store blades in a dry place to prevent rust.
  • Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure place out of reach of children. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery pack.
