3. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to correctly install your FILTER TECH replacement water filters into your compatible Coway water purifier.

  1. Prepare the Water Purifier: Ensure the water purifier is turned off and disconnected from the power supply. Close the water inlet valve to prevent water flow.
  2. Access Filter Compartment: Locate and open the filter cover on your Coway CHPI-08BR or CHPI-08BL water purifier.
  3. Remove Old Filters: Carefully rotate the old filters counter-clockwise to unlock and remove them from their housing. Dispose of old filters responsibly.
  4. Insert New Filters: Insert the new FILTER TECH 1st filter (blue label) and 2nd filter (green label) into their respective slots. Ensure they are correctly oriented.
  5. Secure New Filters: Rotate each new filter clockwise until it locks securely into place. Do not overtighten.
  6. Close Filter Cover: Close the filter compartment cover.
  7. Restore Water and Power: Open the water inlet valve slowly. Check for any leaks. Reconnect the power supply to the water purifier.
  8. Flush New Filters: Before consuming water, flush the new filters by dispensing several liters of water (e.g., 5-10 liters) through the purifier. This removes any carbon fines and air from the new filters. The initial water may appear cloudy or discolored; this is normal. Continue flushing until the water runs clear.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed and flushed, the FILTER TECH replacement water filters operate automatically within your Coway water purifier. The system will continuously filter your water as it passes through the 1st and 2nd filter stages.

No specific user interaction is required for the filters to function beyond ensuring the water purifier is powered on and connected to a water supply.

5. Maintenance

Regular filter replacement is crucial for maintaining optimal water quality and the longevity of your water purifier.

  • Filter Replacement Schedule: Both the 1st and 2nd filters should be replaced approximately every 12 months or after filtering 3,600 liters of water, whichever occurs first. This schedule may vary based on local water quality and usage.
  • Monitoring Water Quality: If you notice a decrease in water flow, a change in taste, or unusual odors before the recommended replacement interval, it may indicate that the filters need to be replaced sooner.
  • Cleaning: These are sealed replacement filters and do not require cleaning. Attempting to clean them may damage the filter media and compromise their effectiveness.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues after installing your new filters, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Reduced Water FlowFilters are clogged or not fully flushed.Ensure filters are properly installed and flush them thoroughly as per installation instructions. If flow remains low, filters may be exhausted prematurely due to high sediment in water.
Unusual Taste or OdorNew filters not adequately flushed, or filters are exhausted.Flush filters again for an extended period. If the issue persists, the filters may need replacement if they have reached their capacity.
Water LeakageFilters not securely installed or O-rings are damaged/misplaced.Turn off water supply and power. Re-install filters, ensuring they are rotated clockwise until snug. Check O-rings for proper seating and damage.

If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support.
