2. Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or heating unit in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
- This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating. See "Operating Instructions" section.
- Never force open the pressure cooker. Make sure the internal pressure has completely dropped before opening. See "Operating Instructions" section.
- Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the vent pipe and developing excess pressure.
- Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti can foam, froth, and sputter, and clog the pressure release device. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
- Always check the pressure release device for clogging before use.
- Do not use this pressure cooker for pressure frying with oil.
- This appliance is for household use only.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Adding Ingredients and Closing the Lid
- Place desired ingredients and liquid into the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line (2/3 full for most foods, 1/2 full for expanding foods like rice).
- Align the lid with the main unit, ensuring the arrow on the lid points to the 'Open' position.
- Lower the lid onto the cooker, then rotate it clockwise until the arrow on the lid aligns with the 'Close' position. You will hear a click, indicating the lid is securely locked.
- Ensure the steam release valve is set to the 'Sealing' position for pressure cooking.
5.2 Selecting a Cooking Program
The control panel features various preset functions:
- Preset Time: Allows you to delay the start of cooking.
- Warm/Cancel: Keeps food warm after cooking or cancels a program.
- Soup: For preparing soups and broths.
- Meat: For cooking various types of meat.
- Chicken: Specifically for poultry.
- Steam: For steaming vegetables, fish, etc.
- Reheat: To warm up cooked food.
- Rice: For cooking rice.
- Porridge: For preparing porridge or oatmeal.
- Fish: For cooking fish.
- Cake: For baking cakes.
- Slow Cook: For slow cooking dishes.
To select a program:
- Press the desired function button (e.g., 'Rice', 'Meat'). The default cooking time for that program will appear on the LED display.
- To adjust the cooking time, use the '+' and '-' buttons. Each press typically adjusts the time by one minute. Hold to change rapidly.
- After setting the time, the cooker will automatically start the preheating process. The display will show a circulating pattern or 'On'.
- Once the desired pressure is reached, the countdown timer will begin.
5.3 Releasing Pressure and Opening the Lid
After cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode (unless cancelled). There are two methods for releasing pressure:
- Natural Release: Allow the pressure to dissipate naturally. This is recommended for foods with high liquid content or those that expand, as it prevents foaming. The float valve will drop when pressure is fully released. This can take 10-30 minutes or more depending on food volume.
- Quick Release: Carefully turn the steam release valve to the 'Venting' position. Steam will rapidly escape. Keep hands and face away from the steam vent. Once the float valve drops, all pressure has been released.
To open the lid: Once the float valve has dropped, rotate the lid counter-clockwise until the arrow aligns with the 'Open' position, then lift the lid. Always open the lid away from your face to avoid residual steam.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your pressure cooker.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Inner Pot: The non-stick inner pot is dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash it with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Lid: Wash the lid with warm, soapy water. Pay special attention to the gasket, steam release valve, and safety valve. Ensure no food particles are clogging these components. The gasket can be removed for thorough cleaning and should be reinserted correctly before next use.
- Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
- Accessories: Wash the measuring cup, rice paddle, and steaming rack with warm, soapy water. They are typically dishwasher safe.
- Storage: Store the cleaned and dried pressure cooker in a dry place. You may place the lid upside down on the inner pot to prevent odors.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Alsaif Electric Pressure Cooker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cooker does not turn on. | No power supply; loose power cord. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the outlet and the cooker. Test the outlet with another appliance. |
| Lid cannot be closed. | Inner pot not correctly placed; lid not aligned; food blocking lid. | Ensure the inner pot is seated properly. Align the lid correctly with the 'Open' mark. Check for any obstructions. |
| Steam leaks from the lid during cooking. | Lid not properly closed; sealing gasket dirty or damaged; steam release valve not in 'Sealing' position. | Ensure the lid is fully locked. Clean or replace the sealing gasket. Turn the steam release valve to 'Sealing'. |
| Pressure does not build up. | Insufficient liquid; steam release valve open; lid not sealed. | Add more liquid (at least 1 cup). Ensure the steam release valve is in 'Sealing' position. Check lid seal. |
| Lid cannot be opened after cooking. | Internal pressure still present. | Do not force the lid. Allow pressure to release naturally or use the quick release method until the float valve drops. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
