Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your EspressoWorks machine.
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use or when the indicator shows it's full.
- Milk Reservoir: After frothing milk, detach the milk reservoir and empty any remaining milk. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. The machine also has a "CLEAN" button for the milk frother system; press this after each milk frothing session.
- Portafilter: Remove used coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and basket under warm water.
- Exterior: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Descaling (Monthly or as needed)
Descaling removes mineral buildup that can affect machine performance and coffee taste. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- Empty the water tank and fill it with a descaling solution mixed according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
- Place a large container under the coffee spout and milk frother.
- Run several cycles of water through both the coffee brewing system (using the "SINGLE" or "DOUBLE" button without coffee) and the milk frother system (using the "MILK FROTH" button).
- After the tank is empty, rinse it thoroughly and refill with fresh water. Run several more cycles to rinse out any descaling solution residue.
