Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Comsmart Pet Water Fountain Pump. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new pump. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the product.
Safety Information
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water before connecting to a power source. Operating the pump dry can cause damage.
- Only use the pump with a 5-volt power supply. Using an incorrect voltage can damage the pump and pose a safety risk.
- Disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Keep the power cord away from pets to prevent chewing or damage.
- Do not use the pump if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- This pump is designed for indoor use with pet water fountains only. Do not use for other purposes.
Product Features
- Automatic Power Off: The pump features an auto safety shutoff. When the water volume is low, the pump will stop working to prevent dry-burning. A red LED light will indicate the need to add water.
- Ultra Quiet Operation: Designed with unique motor technology, the pump operates below 40dB, ensuring a quiet environment for your pets.
- Detachable & Easy to Clean: Both the outer covering and internal parts of the pump can be disassembled for thorough cleaning.
- Easy Installation: Includes a 6ft long USB power cable and 4 strong suction cups for simple setup. (Power adapter not included)
- Widely Compatible: Model DR-DC160 is compatible with various pet fountains, including 84oz/2.5L and 81oz/2.4L models.

Setup Instructions
- Unpack: Carefully remove the pump from its packaging.
- Placement: Position the pump at the bottom of your pet water fountain. The four strong suction cups on the base of the pump will help secure it in place.
- Connect Tubing: Attach the fountain's water tubing to the outlet nozzle of the pump.
- Fill Fountain: Fill the pet water fountain with water to the recommended level, ensuring the pump is fully submerged.
- Power Connection: Connect the USB power cable to a compatible 5V USB power source (e.g., a USB power adapter, PC/laptop, power bank, or USB outlet). A power adapter is not included.
- Verify Operation: Once connected, the pump should begin circulating water.

Operating Instructions
The Comsmart Pet Water Fountain Pump is designed for continuous operation when connected to a power source and submerged in water. Its intelligent sensor system manages water levels for safety.
- Normal Operation: When the water level in the fountain is sufficient, the pump will operate continuously, circulating water. A blue LED light on the sensor will typically indicate normal water supply.
- Automatic Shutoff: If the water level in the fountain drops too low, the pump's smart sensor will detect the low water condition and automatically shut off to prevent dry-burning.
- Low Water Indicator: When the pump automatically shuts off due to low water, the LED light on the sensor will change to red, signaling that water needs to be added to the fountain.
- Resuming Operation: After adding sufficient water to the fountain, the pump will automatically resume normal operation, and the LED light will return to blue.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning of the pump is crucial for its longevity and to maintain water quality for your pet. It is recommended to clean the pump every two weeks.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power source before cleaning.
- Disassemble: Carefully remove the pump cover and impeller cap.
- Remove Impeller: Gently pull out the impeller.
- Clean Components: Use a small brush (often included with pet fountains) and clean water to thoroughly clean all disassembled parts: the pump body, pump cover, impeller cap, and impeller. Remove any hair, debris, or mineral deposits.
- Rinse: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water.
- Reassemble: Reassemble the pump by inserting the impeller, attaching the impeller cap, and then securing the pump cover. Ensure all parts are fitted correctly.
- Place Back: Return the cleaned pump to the pet water fountain and reconnect the power.
