3. Setup

  1. Prepare Workspace: Ensure your vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is cool. Place cardboard or additional protective sheeting under the vehicle to catch any accidental spills.
  2. Position Oil Pan: Locate the oil drain plug on your vehicle's oil pan. Position the Fox Trot 8-quart oil drain pan directly underneath the drain plug, ensuring it is centered to catch all draining oil.
  3. Prepare Funnel: For refilling, attach the flexible extension to the longneck funnel if needed, depending on the vehicle's oil fill location. Ensure the mesh filter is securely in place within the funnel.

4. Operating Instructions: Performing an Oil Change

4.1 Draining Used Oil

  1. Using the appropriate wrench, carefully loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Allow the used oil to drain completely into the Fox Trot oil drain pan.
  2. Once the oil flow slows to a drip, remove the old oil filter. Position the oil pan to catch any residual oil from the filter.
  3. Replace the oil drain plug and install a new oil filter according to your vehicle manufacturer's specifications.

4.2 Refilling with New Oil

  1. Locate your vehicle's oil fill cap. Place the assembled longneck oil funnel (with or without extension) into the oil fill opening.
  2. Slowly pour the recommended type and amount of new engine oil into the funnel. The wide mouth and mesh filter help ensure a clean and spill-free pour.
  3. Once all new oil is added, remove the funnel and replace the oil fill cap securely.

5. Maintenance and Storage

  • Cleaning the Oil Pan: After draining oil, use the easy-pour spout to transfer the used oil into a suitable container for recycling. Clean the pan with a degreaser and water. Ensure it is thoroughly dry before storage.
  • Cleaning the Funnel: Disassemble the funnel and extension. Clean all parts with soap and water or a degreaser. Pay special attention to the mesh filter to remove any trapped debris.
