3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the kettle and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum fill line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
  3. Placement: Place the kettle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure the power cord does not dangle.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 240V AC electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Fill the Kettle: Open the lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of fresh water. Do not fill below the minimum mark or above the maximum fill line to prevent dry boiling or overflow.
  2. Close the Lid: Ensure the lid is securely closed before operating the kettle.
  3. Place on Power Base: Position the kettle firmly onto its power base.
  4. Power On: Press the one-key switch located on the handle to the "ON" position. The indicator lamp will illuminate, signifying that the kettle is heating.
  5. Boiling Process: The water will begin to heat. Once the water reaches boiling point, the kettle will automatically switch off, and the indicator lamp will extinguish. This is the safety auto cut-off feature.
  6. Pouring: Carefully lift the kettle from its base and pour the hot water. Always pour slowly and steadily to avoid splashing.
  7. Re-boiling: If you need to re-boil water, wait a few seconds for the internal thermostat to reset before pressing the switch again.

5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Toyomi SK 455 Electric Kettle.

  • Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the stainless steel finish.
  • Interior Cleaning (Hand Wash): The interior of the kettle should be hand washed. Do not immerse the kettle base or electrical components in water.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or a commercial descaling solution). Bring to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy deposits. Discard the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your kettle, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Kettle does not heat or turn on:
    • Ensure the kettle is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
    • Check if the power switch is in the "ON" position.
    • Verify the kettle is correctly seated on its power base.
    • If recently boiled, the safety auto cut-off may need a few seconds to reset.
  • Water not boiling or boiling slowly:
    • Check for excessive limescale buildup and descale the kettle if necessary.
    • Ensure the lid is fully closed to prevent heat loss.
  • Kettle switches off too quickly:
    • This may indicate limescale buildup. Descale the kettle.
    • Ensure the kettle is filled above the minimum water level.
  • Water leakage:
    • Ensure the lid is properly closed.
    • Do not overfill the kettle beyond the maximum fill line.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
