  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • To disconnect, turn any control to "OFF", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Oversize foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
  • A fire may occur if the toaster oven is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
  • Do not place any materials other than manufacturer's recommended accessories in this oven when not in use.
  • Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: paper, cardboard, plastic, and similar products.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the toaster oven and all packaging materials. Ensure all accessories (bake tray, wire rack) are present.
  2. Placement: Place the oven on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance (at least 10-15 cm) on all sides and above the oven for proper ventilation. Do not place it near flammable materials.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Wash the bake tray and wire rack in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely.
  4. First Use Burn-Off: It is recommended to operate the oven empty for approximately 10-15 minutes at the maximum temperature setting (250°C) to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present during this process; ensure the area is well-ventilated.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet voltage matches the appliance's requirements.

Operating Instructions

The Toyomi TO-977 Toaster Oven features two control knobs: one for temperature and one for the timer.

  1. Prepare Food: Place your food item on the bake tray or wire rack. Ensure the food does not touch the heating elements.
  2. Insert Tray/Rack: Slide the bake tray with food or the wire rack into the desired rack position inside the oven. Close the oven door securely.
  3. Set Temperature: Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature setting, ranging from 100°C to 250°C.
  4. Set Timer: Turn the Timer Knob clockwise to the desired cooking time, up to 60 minutes. The oven will begin heating immediately.
    • For continuous operation (stay-on function), turn the timer knob counter-clockwise past the "OFF" position to the "STAY ON" setting. The oven will remain on until manually turned off.
  5. Cooking Process: The power indicator light will illuminate when the oven is operating. The tempered glass window allows you to monitor the cooking progress.
  6. Completion: When the set time elapses, the oven will automatically turn off and a bell will sound. If using the "STAY ON" function, manually turn the timer knob to "OFF" to stop cooking.
  7. Remove Food: Carefully open the oven door. Using oven mitts, slide out the bake tray or wire rack to remove the cooked food. Be cautious of hot surfaces and steam.
  8. Cool Down: Allow the oven to cool completely before cleaning or storing.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your toaster oven.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
  3. Interior: Wipe the interior walls with a damp cloth. For stubborn food particles, a non-abrasive sponge with mild detergent can be used. Ensure all detergent residue is wiped away.
  4. Bake Tray and Wire Rack: These accessories can be washed in warm, soapy water. For baked-on food, soak them in hot soapy water before scrubbing. They are not dishwasher safe.
  5. Crumb Tray: The crumb tray (if removable) should be cleaned regularly to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards. Slide it out, empty crumbs, and wash with warm, soapy water.
  6. Heating Elements: Do not attempt to clean the heating elements. If food splatters on them, it will usually burn off during subsequent use.
  7. Storage: Ensure the oven is clean and dry before storing. Store in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your toaster oven, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Oven does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outage; timer not set. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check household circuit breaker. Turn the timer knob to a desired cooking time or "STAY ON" position.
Food is not cooking evenly. Incorrect rack position; food too close to heating elements; uneven food placement. Adjust rack position for optimal heat distribution. Ensure food is centered and not touching heating elements. Rotate food halfway through cooking if necessary.
Smoke or burning smell during operation. Food residue on heating elements or interior; initial burn-off. This is normal during first use. For subsequent uses, ensure the oven interior and crumb tray are clean. If excessive, unplug and allow to cool, then clean thoroughly.
Timer does not advance or bell does not ring. Timer mechanism malfunction. If the timer is not functioning correctly, contact customer support for assistance.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Toyomi customer support.
