Polishing Techniques
Apply a small amount of polishing compound or wax directly to the pad or the surface. Start the polisher at a low speed and spread the product evenly. Gradually increase the speed as needed. Work in small sections, using overlapping passes. Maintain consistent pressure and movement. Avoid applying excessive pressure, which can overheat the surface or the tool.
Maintenance
Cleaning
After each use, disconnect the polisher from the power source. Wipe down the exterior of the tool with a clean, damp cloth. Remove any residue from the backing plate and ensure the hook and loop surface is clean. Clean polishing pads thoroughly according to their specific instructions to prolong their lifespan.
Carbon Brush Replacement
The polisher is equipped with carbon brushes that wear down over time. When the motor performance decreases or sparks become excessive, the carbon brushes may need replacement. Disconnect the tool from power. Locate the brush caps on the sides of the motor housing, unscrew them, remove the old brushes, and insert the new ones. Secure the caps tightly. It is recommended to replace both brushes at the same time.
