1. Important Safety Information
Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the voltage requirements (110 Volts). All electrical wiring must be properly grounded and installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. Do not modify the power cord or plug.
- Installation Safety: This range hood is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the wall structure is strong enough to support the weight of the unit (approximately 27 pounds). Use appropriate mounting hardware. Maintain proper clearance from cooking surfaces as specified in local building codes.
- Operation Safety: Never leave cooking unattended. Grease fires can occur. Clean grease filters regularly to prevent grease buildup. Do not operate the range hood without filters in place.
- Maintenance Safety: Disconnect power before cleaning or performing any maintenance. Use only recommended cleaning agents.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation for the room when the range hood is in use, especially if other fuel-burning appliances are present.

3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your range hood. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.
3.1 Pre-Installation Checklist:
- Verify all components are present and undamaged.
- Ensure the installation area meets local building codes and electrical requirements.
- Confirm wall structure can support the hood's weight.
- Determine ventilation type: ducted (vented outside) or non-ducted (recirculating).
3.2 Mounting the Range Hood:
- Measure and Mark: Use the provided mounting template (if applicable) or measure carefully to mark the drilling points on the wall. Refer to the dimensions diagram for precise measurements.
- Drill Holes: Drill holes for mounting brackets and electrical wiring according to the marked points.
- Install Mounting Brackets: Securely attach the mounting brackets to the wall using appropriate fasteners.
- Hang the Hood: Carefully lift and hang the main hood body onto the installed mounting brackets. Ensure it is level and secure.
3.3 Ventilation Options:
This range hood supports both ducted and non-ducted installations.
- Ducted Installation:
Connect the flexible duct work (included) from the top vent location of the hood to an external vent opening (through ceiling or wall). Ensure the damper is properly installed to prevent backdraft.
- Non-Ducted (Recirculating) Installation:
Install the two included charcoal filters (WRHF005S2) onto the motor housing. These filters will purify the air before recirculating it back into the kitchen. No external ducting is required for this setup.
3.4 Electrical Connection:
Connect the range hood's power plug to a grounded 110 Volt electrical outlet. Ensure the circuit is dedicated and properly rated for the hood's wattage (149.3 watts).
3.5 Chimney Installation:
Install the telescoping chimney sections over the main hood body and secure them to the wall or ceiling as per the instructions. The chimney is adjustable to fit ceiling heights between 7.5 Ft. and 8.5 Ft.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your Winflo range hood. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior:
- Wipe the stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner.
- Do not use abrasive pads, harsh detergents, or cleaners containing bleach, as these can damage the finish.
- Wipe in the direction of the grain for best results.
5.2 Cleaning/Replacing Mesh Filters:
- The aluminum mesh filters should be cleaned regularly (e.g., monthly, depending on cooking frequency) to maintain optimal airflow and prevent grease buildup.
- To remove: Locate the release latches on each filter, push or pull to disengage, and carefully lower the filter.
- Cleaning: The filters are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them by hand in hot water with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before re-installing.
- To re-install: Align the filter with the slots and push until the release latches click into place.
5.3 Replacing Charcoal Filters (for Non-Ducted Use):
- Charcoal filters (model WRHF005S2) are used for non-ducted installations and cannot be cleaned. They must be replaced periodically, typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
- To replace: Remove the mesh filters first. The charcoal filters are usually twisted or clipped onto the motor housing. Remove the old filters and install new ones, ensuring they are securely fastened.
- Re-install the mesh filters after replacing the charcoal filters.
5.4 LED Lights:
The range hood is equipped with long-lasting, energy-saving LED lights. In most cases, these lights will not require replacement during the product's lifespan. If a light issue occurs, refer to the troubleshooting section or contact customer support.
6. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please review the following common issues and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Range hood does not turn on. | No power supply. Power cord not plugged in. Circuit breaker tripped. | Check if the unit is plugged into a live outlet. Check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Ensure the power button is pressed. |
| Fan is operating, but suction is weak. | Grease filters are clogged. Ducting is obstructed or too long/restrictive (ducted models). Charcoal filters are saturated (non-ducted models). Incorrect fan speed selected. | Clean or replace mesh filters. Check ductwork for obstructions or kinks. Replace charcoal filters (WRHF005S2). Select a higher fan speed. |
| Lights are not working. | Light button not pressed. LED lights faulty. | Press the light button. If lights still do not work, contact customer support for assistance. |
| Excessive noise during operation. | Loose components. Obstruction in fan blades. Improper installation. | Check for loose screws or parts and tighten them. Disconnect power and check for any foreign objects in the fan area. Ensure the hood is securely mounted and level. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Winflo customer support.
