3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Before Installation

• Ensure your vehicle is equipped with ISOFIX anchor points.
• Read your vehicle's owner manual for specific car seat installation guidelines.
• Remove any loose items from the vehicle seat that might interfere with installation.

3.2. ISOFIX Installation

1. Place the Maxi-Cosi Tanza car seat on the desired vehicle seat.
2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors by pulling the adjustment lever located at the front of the seat base.
3. Align the ISOFIX connectors with your vehicle's ISOFIX anchor points. Push the car seat firmly against the vehicle seat back until the connectors click securely into place. Green indicators on the ISOFIX arms will confirm correct engagement.
4. Push the car seat firmly towards the vehicle seat back to remove any slack. Ensure the seat is stable and does not move excessively from side to side or front to back.
5. Retract the ISOFIX connectors as much as possible by pushing the seat further into the vehicle seat while pressing the adjustment lever. This ensures a tight fit.

Note: The ISOFIX system provides optimal stability even when the child is not in the seat.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Adjusting the Car Seat

The Maxi-Cosi Tanza car seat is designed to grow with your child. The headrest and side wings can be adjusted simultaneously to accommodate your child's height and width.

1. Locate the adjustment lever at the back of the headrest.
2. Squeeze the lever and pull the headrest upwards or push it downwards to the desired height. The side wings will adjust automatically.
3. Ensure the headrest is positioned so that the vehicle's headrest does not push the car seat's headrest forward, and the child's shoulders are below the lowest point of the headrest.

4.2. Securing Your Child

The Maxi-Cosi Tanza uses the vehicle's 3-point seat belt to secure your child.

1. Seat your child in the car seat.
2. Pull the vehicle's 3-point seat belt across your child and the car seat.
3. Guide the lap portion of the belt under the armrests and through the red belt guides on the seat base.
4. Guide the diagonal shoulder portion of the belt through the red belt guide on the headrest. Ensure the belt lies flat across your child's shoulder and chest, not on their neck.
5. Buckle the seat belt into the vehicle's buckle.
6. Pull the shoulder belt to tighten the entire belt system, ensuring there is no slack.

Important: Always check that the vehicle's seat belt is correctly routed and tightened every time you place your child in the car seat.

5.1. Cleaning Instructions

• Fabric Covers: The fabric covers are removable and washable. Refer to the care label on the fabric for specific washing instructions (usually machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle). Do not tumble dry.
