Generic Predator Generator Wheel Kit

Installation and User Manual for 6500, 8750, and 9000 Watt Models

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation and use of the Generic Predator Generator Wheel Kit. This kit is designed to enhance the mobility of your Predator 6500, 8750, or 9000 watt generator, allowing for easier transport over various terrains. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation.

Note: The generator itself is not included with this wheel kit and is shown for reference purposes only.

2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure the generator is turned off, cooled, and disconnected from any power sources before attempting installation.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and eye protection, during assembly.
  • Work on a stable, level surface to prevent the generator from tipping.
  • If the generator is heavy, seek assistance to lift or maneuver it safely.
  • Keep all small parts and tools away from children.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components listed below are present in your package:

  • 2 x Solid Steel Welded Axle Assemblies
  • 4 x 10-inch Inflatable Wheels
  • Necessary Mounting Hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, cotter pins)
  • Installation Instructions (this manual)

4. Setup and Installation

This wheel kit is designed for direct bolt-on application using existing mounting holes on your Predator generator frame.

  1. Prepare the Generator: Ensure your Predator generator is stable and secure. It may be helpful to slightly elevate one side of the generator using blocks or a jack to access the mounting points underneath the frame.
  2. Identify Mounting Points: Locate the pre-drilled mounting holes on the generator frame where the axle assemblies will attach. These are typically found at the base of the frame on the sides.
  3. Attach Axle Assemblies: Position one solid steel welded axle assembly against the generator frame, aligning its mounting holes with those on the generator. Secure the axle assembly using the provided bolts, nuts, and washers. Tighten all hardware firmly, but do not overtighten. Repeat this step for the second axle assembly on the opposite side of the generator.
  4. Install Wheels: Slide one 10-inch inflatable wheel onto the end of an axle shaft. Ensure the wheel is fully seated. Insert a cotter pin through the pre-drilled hole at the end of the axle shaft to secure the wheel in place. Bend the ends of the cotter pin to prevent it from dislodging. Repeat this process for all four wheels.

5. Operation

Once the wheel kit is installed, your Predator generator can be easily moved. The 10-inch inflatable wheels are designed to navigate various terrains, including rough or smooth surfaces. Simply grasp the generator's frame or handle and roll it to your desired location.

6. Maintenance

  • Tire Pressure: Periodically check the air pressure in the inflatable wheels. Maintain the recommended pressure (usually indicated on the tire sidewall) for optimal performance and longevity.
  • Hardware Inspection: Regularly inspect all bolts, nuts, and cotter pins to ensure they remain tight and secure. Tighten any loose fasteners as needed.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the wheels and axle assemblies free from excessive dirt, mud, or debris, which can affect their movement and lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Wheels Not Rolling Smoothly: Check tire pressure. Inspect for debris lodged in the wheel or axle. Ensure cotter pins are not bent or obstructing rotation.
  • Loose Axle Assemblies: Re-tighten all mounting bolts and nuts. Ensure they are properly aligned with the generator frame's mounting holes.
  • Difficulty Aligning Mounting Holes: Slight adjustments to the axle assembly position may be necessary. Ensure the generator is on a completely flat surface during installation.
