4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Cooking with Your Slow Cooker

  1. Prepare your ingredients and place them into the ceramic pot. Do not overfill; ensure there is at least 1 inch of space from the top rim.
  2. Place the glass lid securely on the ceramic pot.
  3. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
  4. Turn the control knob to your desired setting:
    • LOW: For slow, gentle cooking over a longer period (e.g., 6-8 hours). Ideal for tenderizing meats.
    • HIGH: For faster cooking (e.g., 4-6 hours). Suitable for most recipes.
    • WARM: To keep cooked food at a serving temperature. Do not use the WARM setting for cooking.
  5. The indicator light will illuminate when a setting is selected, indicating the unit is powered on.
  6. Once cooking is complete, turn the control knob to the "OFF" position and unplug the slow cooker from the outlet.

4.2 Cooking Tips

  • Avoid lifting the lid frequently during cooking, as this releases heat and extends cooking time.
  • For best results, ensure the ceramic pot is at least half full.
  • Root vegetables (like carrots and potatoes) cook slower than meat. Cut them into smaller, uniform pieces and place them at the bottom of the pot.
  • Dairy products (like cheese or milk) should be added during the last 30 minutes of cooking to prevent curdling.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.1 Cleaning Instructions

Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  • Ceramic Pot and Glass Lid: These parts are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. For stubborn food residue, soak the pot in warm water before cleaning.
  • Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish. Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Slow Cooker Liners: If used, simply remove the liner with food residue and discard. This significantly reduces cleanup time for the ceramic pot.
