Introduction
The Emuca Internal Door Handles, L Model, Satin Nickel, are designed for interior doors with a thickness between 35mm and 45mm. These handles feature a modern design and are constructed from AISI-304 stainless steel, ensuring durability and a satin nickel finish. This instruction manual provides detailed guidance for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your new door handles.
Setup and Installation
Components Included:
- 1 pair of door handles with D.53mm rosettes
- 1 square spindle bar (8mm)
- Assembly fittings (screws, Allen key)

Figure 1: All components included in the Emuca door handle set: two handles, a square spindle bar, mounting screws, and an Allen key.
Tools Required:
- Screwdriver
- Metal Saw (for spindle bar, if necessary)
- Measuring Tape
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has the necessary holes for the spindle and mounting screws. The handles are compatible with door thicknesses between 35mm and 45mm.
- Insert the Spindle: Pass the 8mm square spindle bar through the door's latch mechanism. Ensure it extends equally on both sides of the door.
- Attach Handles: Place one handle on each side of the door, aligning the handle's square receiver with the spindle. Ensure the rosettes are correctly positioned.
- Secure the Handles: Use the provided screws to fasten the handles to the door. For doors between 35mm and 45mm, the connecting screws may need to be cut to the appropriate length using a metal saw. Make sure to cut straight to avoid damaging the screw threads.
- Tighten Grub Screws: Use the included Allen key to tighten the small grub screws located on the underside of the handle levers. This secures the levers firmly to the spindle, preventing rotation.
- Install Rosettes: Position the D.53mm round rosettes over the handle bases. These rosettes are typically push-fit and cover the mounting screws for a clean finish.

Operating Instructions
To open the door, simply press the handle lever downwards. The internal spring mechanism will return the lever to its horizontal position when released, ensuring the handle is always in the correct resting position.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
Clean the satin nickel finish with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish and material.
Inspection:
Periodically check all screws and connections for tightness. If any components feel loose, retighten them using the appropriate tools (screwdriver, Allen key) to ensure optimal performance and prevent wear.
Lubrication:
No specific lubrication is required for the handle mechanism itself, as it features a return spring. Ensure the door's latch mechanism (not included with the handle set) operates smoothly and lubricate it according to its manufacturer's instructions if needed.
Troubleshooting
- Handle feels loose: If the handle levers feel wobbly or loose, check and tighten the grub screws on the handle levers using the provided Allen key. Also, ensure the main mounting screws securing the handle bases to the door are tight.
- Handle does not return to horizontal position: This issue may indicate a problem with the internal return spring or the door's latch mechanism. First, ensure the spindle is correctly aligned and not binding. If the issue persists, the handle set may need to be inspected for damage or replaced.
- Difficulty turning the handle: Check for any obstructions around the handle or door frame that might be impeding movement. Verify that the spindle is not bent or damaged and that the door's latch mechanism is functioning correctly.
