5. Setup & Installation

The AMADA HOMEFURNISHING Floating Shelves are designed for easy installation on various wall types. Please follow these steps carefully:

5.1. Identify Wall Type

It is crucial to identify your wall type before installation to use the correct hardware. These shelves are compatible with Drywall, Wood Studs, and Solid Concrete/Brick walls.

5.2. General Installation Steps

  1. Mark Holes: Position the metal bracket on the wall where you intend to install the shelf. Use a pencil to mark the locations for drilling.
  2. Drill Pilot Holes: Based on your wall type, drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
    • For Wood Studs: Use a 5/64" (2mm) wood drill bit (not included).
    • For Drywall Alone or Concrete/Brick: Use a 1/4" (6mm) concrete/drywall drill bit (not included).
  3. Insert Anchors (if applicable): For drywall or concrete/brick, insert the appropriate anchors into the pilot holes.
  4. Attach Bracket: Securely attach the metal bracket to the wall using the fixed screws. Ensure the bracket is firmly mounted and level.
  5. Mount Shelf: Slide the MDF board onto the metal bracket. The shelf should fit snugly over the pegs of the bracket.
  6. Secure Shelf: Use the remaining fixed screws to secure the shelf to the bracket from the bottom.

5.3. Specific Installation for Wall Types

5.3.1. Installation for Wood Stud

When installing on wood studs, it is recommended that at least one hole of the bracket be installed on a wood stud for maximum stability. Use 5/64" (2mm) wood drill bit for pilot holes.

5.3.2. Installation for Drywall Alone

For drywall without studs, mark 5 hole positions. Drill pilot holes using a 1/4" (6mm) concrete/drywall drill bit, insert drywall anchors, and then attach the bracket and shelf.

5.3.3. Installation for Solid Concrete / Brick

For solid concrete or brick walls, mark 5 hole positions. Drill pilot holes using a 1/4" (6mm) concrete/drywall drill bit, insert concrete wall anchors, and then attach the bracket and shelf.
