Anti-Drip System
The anti-drip system allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will pause automatically. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket.
Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the coffee maker base in water or any other liquid.
Descaling
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance and coffee taste. Descale your coffee maker regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).
- Prepare a descaling solution: Mix white vinegar and water in a 1:2 ratio (e.g., 1 cup vinegar to 2 cups water). Fill the water reservoir with this solution up to the 12-cup mark.
- Place the empty permanent filter and filter basket into position. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start a brewing cycle. Allow half of the solution to brew through, then press ON/OFF to pause the cycle.
- Let the coffee maker sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the solution to work on the deposits.
- Press ON/OFF again to complete the brewing cycle. Discard the solution from the carafe.
- Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water only to rinse out any remaining descaling solution and odor.
