Setup and Installation

The SR SUN RISE 20-Stage Shower Filter is designed for easy, tool-free installation. It features a standard 1/2" thread type, ensuring compatibility with most rain shower heads, fixed shower heads, and hand showers.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Shower Arm: Ensure the shower arm is clean and free of debris. Wrap the provided PTFE (Teflon) tape around the threads of your shower arm 2-3 times in a clockwise direction to ensure a watertight seal and prevent leaks.
2. Insert Rubber Washer: Place one of the provided rubber washers into the top connection of the shower filter.
3. Attach Shower Filter to Shower Arm: Hand-tighten the shower filter onto the threaded shower arm. Ensure it is snug but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the threads.
4. Insert Filter Cartridge: Ensure a filter cartridge is correctly seated inside the shower filter housing. (One is pre-installed).
5. Attach Shower Head: Place the second rubber washer into the connection of your existing shower head. Hand-tighten your shower head onto the bottom connection of the shower filter.
6. Flush the Filter: Turn on the shower water and let it run for approximately 60 seconds to flush out any loose carbon particles or air from the new filter. The water may initially appear cloudy or discolored; this is normal and will clear.

Filter Cartridge Replacement:

Each filter cartridge has a capacity of 12,000 gallons of water, which typically lasts a family of four for 6-8 months. The actual lifespan may vary depending on your water quality and usage frequency. It is recommended to change the cartridge every 6-8 months, or more frequently if your water contains high levels of chlorine or other impurities.

1. Open the Shower Filter: Hold the top section of the shower filter and rotate the bottom section counter-clockwise to disassemble it.
2. Remove Old Cartridge: Carefully remove the old filter cartridge. If there is debris inside, rinse the inside of the filter housing under a tap.
3. Insert New Cartridge: Insert a new filter cartridge. Ensure it is correctly oriented (concave facing up and flat facing down, as indicated on the cartridge).
4. Reassemble Filter: Screw the two sections of the shower filter back together by hand-tightening.
5. Rinse Filter: Place the shower filter under running water for 60 seconds to flush the new cartridge.

  • Verify that the filter is flushing correctly after installation or replacement.
