Setup

1. Battery Installation

The M705 mouse uses two AA batteries. These may be pre-installed with a pull tab or included separately.

  1. Locate the battery compartment door on the underside of the mouse.
  2. Slide the battery compartment door open.
  3. If a pull tab is present, remove it. If batteries are separate, insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment door securely.

2. Connecting via Logitech Unifying Receiver

The Logitech Unifying Receiver provides a reliable 2.4 GHz wireless connection.

  1. Locate the tiny Logitech Unifying Receiver. It may be stored inside the battery compartment of the mouse.
  2. Plug the Unifying Receiver into an available USB port on your computer (PC, Mac, Laptop, Chromebook).
  3. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch located on the underside. The mouse should automatically connect.
  4. If the mouse does not connect automatically, download and install the Logitech Options software from the official Logitech website to pair the device.

3. Connecting via Bluetooth Smart Wireless Technology

The M705 also supports Bluetooth Smart for direct connection to compatible devices without the need for the Unifying Receiver.

  1. Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled.
  2. Turn on the M705 mouse.
  3. Press and hold the Easy-Switch button (located on the underside of the mouse, usually labeled 1, 2, or 3) for three seconds until the LED light starts blinking rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
  4. On your computer or device, go to Bluetooth settings and select "Logitech M705" from the list of available devices to complete the pairing process.
  5. The LED light on the mouse will turn solid for 5 seconds when connected.
