4. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Logitech M190 mouse, follow these maintenance tips:

  • Battery Replacement: The mouse uses one AA battery. When the mouse stops responding or the cursor becomes erratic, it may be time to replace the battery. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the mouse, remove the old battery, and insert a new AA battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior of the mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, turn off the mouse using the ON/OFF switch to conserve battery life. Store the USB receiver inside the mouse's battery compartment to prevent loss.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Logitech M190 mouse, try the following solutions:

  • No Cursor Movement:
    • Ensure the mouse is turned ON.
    • Check the battery. Replace it if necessary.
    • Ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer. Try a different USB port.
    • Move the mouse closer to the USB receiver. The effective range is up to 10 meters.
  • Erratic Cursor Movement:
    • Clean the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse with a soft, dry cloth.
    • Ensure you are using the mouse on a suitable surface. Highly reflective or uneven surfaces can affect tracking. A mouse pad is recommended.
    • Check for interference from other wireless devices.
  • Lag or Disconnection:
    • Ensure the USB receiver is not obstructed by metal objects.
    • Try plugging the USB receiver into a different USB port, preferably one closer to the mouse.
    • Restart your computer.
