The Elink URC-386 remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Press down on the latch and slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert two new AAA batteries, ensuring that the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.
Note: Always replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.
4. Setup and Code Programming
To control your devices, the Elink URC-386 remote must be programmed with the correct codes for each device. The remote contains a complete code library for most major brands.
4.1 Manual Code Entry (Recommended)
This method allows you to directly enter a 3-digit code for your specific device brand.
- Turn on the device you wish to program (e.g., TV, DVD player).
- On the remote, press and hold the SET button. While holding SET, press the corresponding device button (e.g., TV1, DVD, CBL) for the device you are programming. The red indicator light on the remote will illuminate.
- Release both buttons. The red indicator light will remain lit.
- Enter the 3-digit code for your device brand using the number pad. (Refer to the separate code list provided with your remote for specific codes).
- After entering the last digit, the red indicator light should turn off. If it flashes and stays on, the code was not accepted, or it is an invalid code. Repeat the process.
- Test the remote by pressing the POWER button. If the device turns off, try other functions like volume or channel. If it works, the programming is complete.
- If the device does not respond or only some functions work, repeat the process with the next code listed for your brand.
4.2 Auto Code Search
If you cannot find a code for your device, or if manual entry is unsuccessful, you can use the auto code search function.
- Turn on the device you wish to program.
- On the remote, press and hold the SET button. While holding SET, press the corresponding device button (e.g., TV1, DVD, CBL). The red indicator light will illuminate.
- Release both buttons. The red indicator light will remain lit.
- Press the POWER button once. The red indicator light will start flashing, indicating the remote is searching for a code.
- Point the remote at your device. When your device turns off, immediately press the SET button to save the code. The red indicator light will turn off.
- Test the remote's functions. If not all functions work, repeat the auto search process. The remote will continue searching from the last found code.
