Setup and Assembly
Assembly is required for this product. Follow these general steps for installation. Refer to the detailed diagram for dimensions and structural understanding.
- Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and verify against the parts list provided in your package.
- Assemble the Frame: Connect the steel support poles and crossbars according to the provided diagrams. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Mount the Awning Fabric: Attach the awning fabric to the assembled frame. Ensure it is taut and evenly distributed.

Operating Instructions
Your vidaXL awning is designed for manual operation, offering flexibility and control over its extension and retraction.
- Extending the Awning: Use the provided crank handle. Insert the handle into the designated crank mechanism (typically located on one of the main support poles). Turn the handle clockwise to extend the awning to your desired projection.
- Retracting the Awning: To retract the awning, turn the crank handle counter-clockwise. Continue turning until the awning is fully retracted and secured.
- Adjusting Height and Angle: The support poles feature adjustable sections. Loosen the locking mechanisms on the poles, adjust to the desired height and angle, and then securely tighten the mechanisms. This allows you to optimize shade based on the sun's position.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your awning.
- Cleaning the Canopy: The polyester canopy is designed for easy maintenance. It can be easily removed and washed. For general cleaning, use mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the fabric or its PU coating.
- Frame Inspection: Periodically inspect the steel frame for any signs of rust, loose connections, or damage. Tighten any loose bolts or screws.
- Lubrication: If the cranking mechanism becomes stiff, apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during winter or severe weather, it is recommended to fully retract the awning and store it in a dry, protected area.
Troubleshooting
- Awning sags in the middle when extended:
- This can occur, especially with longer awnings. Ensure all support poles are extended to their maximum stable height and all connections are securely tightened. While the design aims for stability, some slight sagging may be inherent in longer manual awnings. Consider retracting the awning during periods of no use to reduce stress on the frame.
- Crank mechanism is stiff or difficult to operate:
- Check for any obstructions. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the crank mechanism. If the issue persists, inspect for bent or damaged components.
- Awning does not retract or extend smoothly:
- Ensure the fabric is not snagged or caught on any part of the frame. Check for debris in the mechanism. Verify that the crank handle is properly engaged.
