7. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for various measurement functions:

7.1. AC/DC Voltage Measurement

  1. Turn the function switch to the 'V~' (AC Voltage) or 'V-' (DC Voltage) position. The meter will automatically select the appropriate range.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the positive side of the circuit and the black test lead to the negative side (or neutral/ground for AC).
  3. Read the voltage value on the LCD display.
  4. Use the SELECT button to switch between AC and DC voltage if the function switch combines them.

7.2. Resistance Measurement

  1. Ensure the circuit under test is completely de-energized.
  2. Turn the function switch to the 'Ω' (Resistance) position.
  3. Connect the test leads across the component or circuit section where resistance is to be measured.
  4. Read the resistance value on the LCD display.

7.3. Continuity Test

  1. Ensure the circuit under test is completely de-energized.
  2. Turn the function switch to the continuity symbol (often shared with resistance or diode).
  3. Connect the test leads across the circuit or component.
  4. If the resistance is below approximately 50Ω, the buzzer will sound, indicating continuity.

7.4. Diode Test

  1. Ensure the circuit under test is completely de-energized.
  2. Turn the function switch to the diode symbol.
  3. Connect the red test lead to the anode and the black test lead to the cathode of the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop.
  4. Reverse the leads. The display should show 'OL' (Open Line) for a good diode.

7.5. Capacitance Measurement

  1. Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before testing to prevent damage to the meter.
  2. Turn the function switch to the capacitance symbol.
  3. Connect the test leads across the capacitor terminals.
  4. Read the capacitance value on the LCD display.

7.6. Data Hold, Backlight, and Flashlight

  • Data Hold: Press the 'HOLD' button briefly to freeze the current reading. Press again to release.
  • Backlight/Flashlight: Long press the 'HOLD' button to turn on the LCD backlight and the integrated flashlight. Long press again to turn them off.
