Setup and Installation

Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with electrical wiring.

  1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the junction box is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Prepare Mounting Location: Ensure the ceiling junction box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the fixture's weight (approximately 8.75 lbs).
  3. Attach Mounting Strap: Secure the mounting strap to the junction box using the provided screws.
  4. Adjust Hanging Height: Determine the desired hanging height. The fixture includes a 5-foot chain, allowing for an adjustable hanging length up to 83 inches. Adjust the chain length by removing links as needed. Feed the electrical wires through the chain and canopy.
  5. Wire Connections:
    • Connect the fixture's bare copper ground wire to the house ground wire (usually bare copper or green) using a wire nut.
    • Connect the fixture's white wire to the house white (neutral) wire using a wire nut.
    • Connect the fixture's black wire to the house black (hot) wire using a wire nut.
    • Ensure all wire connections are secure and tucked neatly into the junction box.
  6. Secure Canopy: Carefully push the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the junction box, and secure it with the provided screws or nuts.
  7. Install Bulbs: Screw six candelabra base (E12) bulbs (max 60W each, not included) into the sockets. Do not overtighten.
  8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and powered, the Weyburn chandelier operates via a standard wall switch. If connected to a compatible dimmer switch, the light output can be adjusted.

  • Power On/Off: Use the wall switch connected to the fixture to turn the chandelier on or off.
  • Dimming Function: This fixture is dimmable. If a compatible dimmer switch is installed, adjust the dimmer control to achieve the desired light intensity. Ensure that the bulbs used are also dimmable.
  • Bulb Type: The chandelier requires six candelabra base (E12) bulbs, with a maximum wattage of 60 watts per bulb. LED candelabra bulbs can be used as an energy-efficient alternative, provided they are compatible with the fixture and any installed dimmer switch.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and appearance of your chandelier.

  • Cleaning:
    • Always turn off the power to the fixture and allow it to cool before cleaning.
    • Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish.
  • Bulb Replacement:
    • Turn off the power at the circuit breaker before replacing bulbs.
    • Allow bulbs to cool completely before touching them.
    • Unscrew the old bulb and screw in a new candelabra base (E12) bulb, ensuring it does not exceed 60 watts.
