Installation Instructions

The Extend-an-Arm extensions are designed for flat or surface mounting on various existing structures, including PVC (vinyl) fences, wood fences, posts, brick, concrete, and walls. These extensions are set at a 45-degree angle to effectively support barbed wire.

• Drill
• Appropriate drill bits for pilot holes
• Fasteners (screws, bolts, or anchors suitable for your mounting surface)
• Measuring tape
• Level
• Pencil or marker
• Safety glasses and gloves

Installation Steps:

1. Plan Placement: Determine the desired spacing and height for your barbwire extensions along your fence or structure. Ensure consistent spacing for optimal support of the barbed wire.
2. Mark Mounting Points: Hold an extension in place at your chosen mounting point. Use a pencil or marker to accurately mark the locations for drilling pilot holes through the pre-drilled holes on the extension's flat mounting plate.
3. Drill Pilot Holes: Using a drill and an appropriate drill bit for your chosen fasteners and mounting surface, carefully drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Ensure holes are straight and deep enough for your fasteners.
4. Secure Extension: Align the extension with the drilled pilot holes. Insert your chosen fasteners (screws, bolts, or anchors) through the extension's mounting plate and into the pilot holes. Tighten all fasteners securely. Do not overtighten, especially on PVC or wood, to avoid damaging the material.
5. Repeat for Remaining Extensions: Continue the process for all remaining extensions, ensuring they are level and consistently spaced.
6. Attach Barbed Wire: Once all extensions are securely mounted, you can proceed with attaching your barbed wire through the designated holes at the end of each extension arm.
