1. Introduction

Meet ERGO M575—a wireless trackball with incredibly easy thumb control. This is the newest addition to the Logitech Ergo series that promotes increased comfort, lower muscle strain, and improved, more natural posture. Forget about sliding around a mouse or moving your arm to move the cursor. The ergonomic sculpted shape of ERGO M575 minimizes movement and maximizes comfort while keeping your hand and arm relaxed.

The Logitech ERGO M575 is designed for precision and comfort, making it ideal for tight workspaces and busy desks where traditional mouse movement is limited.

2. What's in the Box

Your Logitech ERGO M575 package includes the following items:

• Logitech ERGO M575 Wireless Trackball Mouse
• 1 AA battery (pre-installed or included separately)
• Logitech Unifying USB receiver

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The Logitech ERGO M575 uses a single AA battery. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the mouse.

1. Locate the battery compartment door on the bottom of the mouse.
2. Slide the door open.
3. Insert the AA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment door securely.

3.2. Connectivity Options

The ERGO M575 offers two ways to connect to your device:

• Via Logitech Unifying USB Receiver:
  1. The Unifying USB receiver is typically stored inside the battery compartment of the mouse for convenience. Remove it before use.
  2. Plug the Unifying USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch located on the bottom.
  4. Your computer should automatically detect and connect to the mouse.
• Via Bluetooth Low Energy:
  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer or device.
  2. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch on the bottom.
  3. Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (usually a small button with a Bluetooth icon or 'Connect' label) on the bottom of the mouse until the LED indicator starts blinking rapidly.
  4. On your computer, go to Bluetooth settings and select "Logitech ERGO M575" from the list of available devices to pair.
  5. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

4. Operating the Mouse

4.1. Trackball Control

Unlike traditional mice, the ERGO M575 uses a trackball for cursor movement. Your hand remains stationary, and you control the cursor by rolling the trackball with your thumb. This design minimizes arm and wrist movement, contributing to ergonomic comfort.

4.2. Buttons and Scrolling

The mouse features several buttons for enhanced productivity:

• Left and Right Click Buttons: Standard mouse clicks for selection and context menus.
• Scroll Wheel: Used for vertical scrolling through documents and web pages. The scroll wheel also functions as a middle click button.
• Programmable Buttons: The ERGO M575 includes two customizable buttons located near the left-click button. These can be assigned various functions using the Logitech Options+ software (available for download from the Logitech website). By default, they often serve as forward/back buttons for web browsing.

4.3. Customization (Logitech Options+ Software)

For advanced customization of button functions and trackball sensitivity, download and install the Logitech Options+ software from the official Logitech support website. This software allows you to tailor the mouse's behavior to your specific workflow and preferences.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Trackball

Over time, dust and debris can accumulate around the trackball, affecting its smoothness and precision. Regular cleaning is recommended:

1. Gently push the trackball from the underside of the mouse (through the small opening) to pop it out.
2. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to wipe the trackball clean.
3. Clean the inside cavity of the trackball housing, paying attention to the small sensor points.
4. Once both the trackball and cavity are dry, reinsert the trackball into the mouse.

5.2. Battery Replacement

The AA battery in your ERGO M575 is designed for long-lasting performance (up to 24 months with the Unifying USB receiver or 20 months with Bluetooth Low Energy). When the battery indicator light turns red or the mouse performance degrades, replace the battery as described in Section 3.1.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Logitech ERGO M575, try the following solutions:

• No Cursor Movement:
  • Ensure the mouse is turned on.
  • Check the battery level and replace if necessary.
  • If using the USB receiver, ensure it is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try a different port.
  • If using Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the mouse is properly paired. Try re-pairing.
  • Clean the trackball and its housing as described in Section 5.1.
• Intermittent Connection:
  • Move the mouse closer to the USB receiver or Bluetooth-enabled device.
  • Avoid using the mouse on metal surfaces, which can interfere with wireless signals.
  • Ensure there are no other strong wireless devices nearby causing interference.
• Buttons Not Responding:
  • Check battery level.
