2. Compatibility
The X X-HOUSE Universal Garage Door Remote is compatible with garage door openers that utilize specific Learn Button colors or DIP Switch configurations. It supports:
- Learn Buttons: Yellow, Purple, Green, Red, Orange.
- DIP Switches: 7, 8, 9, 10, or 12 position DIP switches.
Supported brands include LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Linear, Stanley, Wayne Dalton, and Craftsman. It is crucial to identify the color of the Learn Button on your garage door opener motor unit or the number of DIP switches to ensure compatibility.
Detailed Compatibility by Learn Button/DIP Switch Type:
- Purple Learn Button: Security+ 315MHz technology. Compatible with LiftMaster Models 1355, 3270, 3255, 3265-267, 3240, 3280.
- Green Learn Button: Billion Code technology, 390MHz frequency.

3. Product Overview

4. Setup and Programming
Programming the universal remote involves two main types of garage door openers: those with a Learn Button and those with DIP Switches.
4.1. Programming for Learn Button Openers:
Follow these steps carefully to program your remote for garage door openers with a Learn Button:
- Ensure your garage door is CLOSED before starting the programming process.
- Remove the battery cover from the remote. Press and hold the Program Button until the status LED lights solid blue. This configuration mode will last for approximately 1 minute.
- Press and release any button on the SM24-LT remote that you wish to use to control your garage door. Press and release this button continuously the number of times corresponding to your opener's brand/model from the Compatibility List (Image 2.3). Then, press the Program Button once to store this setting.
- On your garage door motor unit, press and release the Learn Button. Immediately after, press the remote button you just programmed the same number of times you did in step 3, within 30 seconds. For Overhead Door and Genie brand openers, you must press the remote button 3 times continuously within 30 seconds after pressing the opener's Learn Button.
- Press the Program Button on the remote once to exit the configuration steps. You can now test the configured button to control your garage door. If the door does not respond, repeat the programming steps.

4.2. Programming for DIP Switch Openers:
For openers with DIP switches, you will need to match the switch positions on the remote to your existing opener or remote. The remote's internal DIP switches are accessible by removing the battery cover.
- Locate the DIP switches on your existing garage door opener or remote.
- Remove the battery cover from the X X-HOUSE universal remote to access its internal DIP switches.
- Adjust the DIP switches on the universal remote to match the pattern of your existing opener/remote.
- Special Note for Stanley Multi-Code (No. 15 in Compatibility List): If your opener is a Stanley Multi-Code with 10 code switches, you must reverse the order of each DIP switch position on the SM24-LT remote compared to the original remote.
- Once the DIP switches are set, replace the battery cover. The remote should now operate your garage door.
5. Operating Instructions
After successful programming, operating the remote is straightforward:
- Press the programmed button on the remote to open or close your garage door.
- The LED indicator on the remote will flash when a button is pressed, confirming signal transmission.
- If you have programmed two different garage doors, use the respective programmed buttons for each door.

6. Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
The remote uses a CR2032 lithium battery. If the LED light does not flash, or flashes weakly when a button is pressed, the battery may need replacement.
- Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote. A small screwdriver may be required.
- Carefully remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
- Replace the battery cover securely.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your universal garage door remote, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
- Remote not responding:
- Check the battery. Replace the CR2032 battery if the LED is dim or not lighting up.
- Ensure the remote is within range of the garage door opener.
- Re-verify programming steps. Incorrect programming is a common cause of non-responsiveness.
- Programming fails for Learn Button opener:
- The memory of your garage door opener may be full. Try clearing the opener's memory first. To do this, press and hold your garage door opener’s Learn Button. The light above the button will turn on and shut off after approximately 6 seconds. Once the light is no longer on, the opener's memory is cleared. Note: Clearing the memory will erase all previous remote control and keypad connections, requiring all devices to be re-learned.
- Ensure you are pressing the remote button the correct number of times as specified in the Compatibility List (Image 2.3) for your specific opener model.
- DIP Switch programming issues:
- Double-check that the DIP switch positions on the universal remote precisely match those on your original opener or remote.
- For Stanley Multi-Code (10 code switch), remember to reverse the order of the DIP switch positions on the universal remote.
- Intermittent operation or short range:
- Replace the battery.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the garage door opener's antenna.
