The Joie Every Stage FX is a versatile car seat designed to accommodate children from birth up to 36kg (approximately 12 years), covering Group 0+/1/2/3. It offers both rearward-facing and forward-facing installation options, adapting to your child's growth.

Important Safety Guidelines

• Always ensure the car seat is correctly installed according to the instructions for your child's weight and age group.
• Never leave your child unattended in the car seat.

Setup and Installation

Child Weight and Age Groups

• Group 0+ (Rearward Facing): Birth to 18kg (approximately 0-4 years)
• Group 1 (Forward Facing with ISOFIX and Top Tether): 9-18kg (approximately 1-4 years)
• Group 2/3 (Forward Facing with Vehicle Seat Belt and ISOSAFE): 15-36kg (approximately 3-12 years)

Rearward Facing Installation (Group 0+ / Birth to 18kg)

For infants and toddlers up to 18kg, the car seat must be installed in a rearward-facing position using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.

1. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat.
2. Adjust the recline to one of the two rearward-facing positions (refer to the recline mechanism).
3. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated blue belt guides.
4. Ensure the seat belt is taut and the car seat is securely fitted against the vehicle seat.
5. Use the 5-point harness to secure your child.
6. The 3-piece flexible insert system (infant head support, body support, and wedge) should be used for newborns and smaller infants to ensure proper fit and comfort. Remove as your child grows.

Forward Facing Installation (Group 1 / 9-18kg)

For children weighing 9-18kg, the car seat can be installed in a forward-facing position using ISOFIX connectors and the top tether.

1. Ensure the car seat is in a forward-facing position.
2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors from the car seat base.
3. Attach the ISOFIX connectors to your vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points until they click securely and the indicators turn green.
4. Attach the top tether strap to the designated anchorage point in your vehicle and tighten it firmly.
5. Adjust the recline to one of the four forward-facing positions.
6. Secure your child using the 5-point harness.

Forward Facing Installation (Group 2/3 / 15-36kg)

For older children weighing 15-36kg, the car seat functions as a high-back booster. The child is secured using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt, and the car seat is stabilized with ISOSAFE connectors.

1. Stow away the 5-point harness components into their designated compartments within the seat.
2. Extend the ISOSAFE connectors and attach them to your vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points to secure the car seat.
3. Position the child in the car seat.
4. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the red belt guides on the car seat and buckle it.
5. Ensure the lap belt is low across the child's hips and the shoulder belt rests across the middle of their shoulder, not their neck.

Operating and Adjustments

Harness Adjustment

• Tightening: Pull the harness adjustment strap located at the front of the seat with one pull motion until the harness is snug against your child.
• Loosening: Press the harness release button (usually under a flap at the front) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.
• Height Adjustment: The headrest and harness system adjust simultaneously. Lift the red lever at the back of the headrest and pull up or push down to adjust to the correct height. The shoulder straps should be at or just below your child's shoulders for rear-facing, and at or just above for forward-facing.

Recline Positions

The car seat features 6 recline positions: 2 for rearward-facing and 4 for forward-facing. To adjust the recline, locate the recline handle (typically at the front or side of the base) and pull it while simultaneously pushing or pulling the seat to the desired position. Ensure it locks securely into place.

Guard Surround Safety Panels

The Guard Surround Safety panels provide additional side impact protection. These panels can be extended outwards from the side of the car seat when in use and folded back into the seat when not needed or for space-saving.

AutoAdjust Side Wings

As the headrest is adjusted upwards, the AutoAdjust side wings automatically expand to provide a custom fit for growing children, ensuring continuous side impact protection and comfort.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Fabric Covers

• The fabric covers are removable for cleaning. Refer to the care label for specific washing instructions (typically machine wash cold on a delicate cycle).
• Note: While removable, reinstalling the covers can be challenging. Take note of how they are attached before removal.
• Do not use harsh detergents, bleach, or abrasive cleaners.

• Car seat feels loose after installation: Recheck all belt paths and ISOFIX/ISOSAFE connections. Ensure the seat belt is taut and the ISOFIX indicators are green. Apply pressure to the car seat while tightening.
• Harness is difficult to tighten/loosen: Check for twists in the harness straps. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening. If straps are sticky, clean them with a damp cloth (do not lubricate).
• Child seems uncomfortable: Ensure the headrest and harness are adjusted to the correct height. For younger children, verify the use of the infant inserts. Check recline position.
• Buckle not engaging: Ensure both buckle tongues are fully inserted into the buckle until a click is heard. Check for debris in the buckle mechanism.
