Moongiantgo Grain Mill Grinder Electric 150g (Model HO-150) Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of your Moongiantgo 150g Electric Grain Mill Grinder, Model HO-150. This appliance is designed for pulverizing various dried materials such as grains, spices, herbs, and coffee beans. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing injury and ensuring the longevity of your appliance.

  • Dry Materials Only: This grinder is designed exclusively for dried and dehydrated materials. Do not use it for wet, fresh, oily, or sticky substances such as fresh fruits, meat, nuts, sugar, or salt. Ensure all materials are completely dry before grinding.
  • Safety Buckles: The grinder is equipped with safety buckles on both sides. The machine will immediately stop operating if these buckles are disengaged during grinding. Always ensure the lid is securely fastened and the buckles are engaged before starting the grinder.
  • Overload Protection: An upgraded overload protector is integrated into the design. If the motor experiences overload or overheating, the grinder will automatically stop to prevent damage. Allow the unit to cool down before attempting to restart.
  • Grinding Capacity: For optimal performance and safety, the material to be ground should cover the long blade in the middle but not exceed two-thirds (2/3) of the grinding jar's capacity.
  • Continuous Operation Limit: Do not operate the grinder continuously for more than 3 minutes. After every 3 minutes of continuous work, allow the pulverizer to rest for 5-10 minutes to prevent overheating.
  • Cleaning Precautions: The grinding jar is not detachable. Do not wash the grinding jar directly with water or rinse the motor base. Clean only with a dry cloth and the provided cleaning brush.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the voltage of your power supply matches the 110V requirement of the grinder.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to operate your Moongiantgo Electric Grain Mill Grinder:

  1. Prepare Materials: Ensure the materials you intend to grind are completely dry.
  2. Load Grinder: Open the lid and place the dry material into the grinding jar. Do not exceed two-thirds (2/3) of the jar's capacity, and ensure the material covers the central long blade.
  3. Secure Lid: Close the lid firmly and ensure both safety buckles are securely engaged.
  4. Start Grinding: Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start the grinding process.
  5. Monitor Grinding: Observe the grinding process. Most dry materials can be pulverized within 1 minute. Refer to the grinding results display for typical times.
  6. Stop Grinding: Press the 'ON/OFF' button again to stop the operation immediately once the desired fineness is achieved.
  7. Rest Period: If grinding for extended periods, remember the 3-minute continuous operation limit, followed by a 5-10 minute rest.
  8. Retrieve Ground Material: Once grinding is complete and the blades have stopped, disengage the safety buckles, open the lid, and carefully pour out the ground material.

If a finer result is desired, you can sieve out coarse particles and grind them again. A sieve is not provided with the unit.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your grinder.

Cleaning the Grinding Jar:

  • After each use, use the provided cleaning brush to remove any residual powder from the inside of the grinding jar.
  • Wipe the inside of the jar with a dry cloth.
  • Important: The grinding jar is not detachable. Do not wash it directly with water or rinse the motor base. Water can damage the electrical components.

Changing the Blades:

If the blades become dull or damaged, they can be replaced using the provided spare blades and socket wrench.

  1. Unscrew one of the screws and lift it up to jam the short blade.
  2. Use the socket wrench to loosen the locknut on the blades by turning it counter-clockwise.
  3. Carefully remove the old blades. Exercise caution to avoid injury.
  4. Install the new blades and tighten the locknut clockwise with the socket wrench.

Replacing Carbon Brushes:

The carbon brushes may need replacement over time. Replace both sides together.

  1. Use a flattened tip screwdriver to loosen the nut covering the carbon brush.
  2. Take out the old carbon brush.
  3. Reinstall the new carbon brush and tighten the nut securely.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Grinder Does Not Start:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a 110V outlet.
    • Verify that the safety buckles on both sides of the lid are fully engaged. The induction switches inside the safety device must be triggered for the grinder to operate. Adjust the lid to ensure the two rods are pushed to the end of the buckle structures without any space.
    • Check if the overload protector has been activated. If so, the grinder will stop working. Allow it to cool down and press the red overload protector button to reset it.
  • Grinder Stops During Operation:
    • This is likely due to the overload protector activating. This can happen if the machine is overloaded (too much material) or has been running continuously for too long (over 3 minutes). Reduce the material quantity, allow the unit to cool, and press the overload protector button to reset.
  • Material Not Grinding Finely Enough:
    • Ensure the materials are completely dry. Moisture can hinder effective grinding.
    • Increase grinding time. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for typical grinding durations.
    • Consider grinding in smaller batches.
    • If blades are dull, replace them as per the 'Maintenance' section.
