1. Introduction

The I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock provides advanced security for your bicycle, combining a robust physical lock with smart features such as integrated GPS tracking, smartphone control, and an intelligent alarm system. This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock.

2. Setup

2.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock. The device contains a Lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 1000 mAh. A full charge may take approximately 4 hours. Use the provided charging cable to connect the lock to a suitable power source.

2.2 App Download and Pairing

1. Download the official I LOCK IT application from your smartphone's app store (compatible with Android and iOS). You may find a QR code in the product packaging for direct download.
2. Open the I LOCK IT app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your lock with your smartphone via Bluetooth.
3. If you encounter issues during pairing, try restarting your mobile device and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.

2.3 Installation on Bicycle

The I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock is designed for secure attachment to your bicycle frame. Ensure the lock is mounted firmly. The package includes a SIM card, which is pre-installed for GPS tracking functionality.

Note on Flex Adapters: Some bicycle frames may require specific flex adapters for optimal fit. If the provided screws for the flex adapters are too long for your frame's threaded bushings, you may need to shorten them or acquire shorter screws. Ensure the lock's closing mechanism has sufficient clearance from the wheel rim after installation.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Locking and Unlocking

• Automatic Control: The I LOCK IT can be controlled automatically via your smartphone using Bluetooth. When you approach or leave your bike, the lock can automatically engage or disengage.
• Manual Control: You can also manually lock and unlock the device using the I LOCK IT app or a physical switch on the lock itself. Additionally, a manual unlocking option via a color code or an optional remote control is available.
• Dynamic Spoke Avoidance: The lock features a dynamic spoke avoidance system, ensuring the locking mechanism reliably closes without manual adjustment of the wheel, even if spokes are in the way.

3.2 GPS Live Tracking

The integrated GPS tracking allows you to monitor your bicycle's location in real-time. The lock transmits its current position via the mobile network to your smartphone. This feature functions across Europe.

• Live Tracking Mode: If an alarm is triggered on your bike, the live tracking mode automatically activates, allowing you to see its current location in the I LOCK IT app.
• Proximity Location & Sound: Use the proximity location and sound functions within the app to easily pinpoint your bike's exact position, especially in crowded areas.

3.3 Alarm System

The I LOCK IT features a secure alarm system. If an attempt is made to steal your bicycle, a loud 110 dB alarm will sound. Simultaneously, you will receive a real-time notification on your smartphone.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Management

The I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock has a battery life of approximately 9 months on a single charge. Regularly check the battery status via the I LOCK IT app. Recharge the device when the battery level is low to ensure continuous functionality.

4.2 Charging Port Care

Ensure the rubber stopper covering the charging port is securely closed after charging. This protects the port from dirt and moisture. If the stopper tends to open during rough rides, periodically check its seal.

5. Troubleshooting

• App Connection Issues: If your smartphone struggles to connect to the lock, try restarting your phone and ensuring the I LOCK IT app is updated to the latest version.
• Installation Difficulties: If the lock does not fit correctly or screws are too long during installation, consult the dimensional drawing (Figure 3) and consider adjusting screw lengths or seeking professional assistance.
• Automatic Mode Caution: The automatic locking/unlocking feature carries a slight risk of unintended locking (e.g., at a traffic light). If this occurs, disable the automatic mode in the app settings and use manual control.
• App Log Discrepancies: The app's log primarily records locking actions initiated via the app. If you frequently use the physical switch on the lock, these actions may not be fully reflected in the app's log. This is a known behavior and does not indicate a malfunction.

The I LOCK IT GPS tracking service, including GPS tracking functionality in the app, the GPS tracking server, and cellular data, is included for 2 years with the purchase of your I LOCK IT GPS Bike Lock. After this initial 2-year period, the tracking service can be extended for a monthly fee of 2.90 (without a contractual agreement).
