Operating Instructions

Modes of Operation: WAH-WAH / Volume

The JOYO WAH-II offers two primary modes: WAH-WAH and Volume. Use the toggle switch located near the input jack to select between these modes.

• WAH/VOL Mode: In this mode, the pedal functions as both a WAH-WAH and a Volume pedal.
  • To activate WAH-WAH, press the toe of the pedal down until you hear a click and the LED indicator illuminates.
  • To switch to Volume mode, press the toe of the pedal down again. The LED indicator will turn off, and the pedal will now control your instrument's volume. Toe down increases volume, heel down decreases volume.
• WAH/BYPASS Mode: In this mode, the pedal functions as a WAH-WAH effect or is bypassed.
  • Press the toe of the pedal down to engage the WAH-WAH effect (LED on).
  • Press the toe down again to bypass the effect (LED off).

Control Knobs:

• Q Value Knob (QUALITY): This knob adjusts the "Q" value of the WAH-WAH effect. Turning it clockwise makes the sound sharper and more pronounced, while turning it counter-clockwise results in a mellower, wider wah effect.
• Range Knob (RANGE): This knob selects between 6 different WAH-WAH frequency ranges. Experiment with this knob to find the ideal frequency sweep for your desired tone and musical style.
• Minimum Volume Knob (MIN VOL): In Volume mode, this knob allows you to set the minimum volume level when the pedal is in the heel-down position. The range is typically from 0% to 50% of the maximum volume.
