1. Introduction

1. POWER Button: Press to turn the soundbar ON or OFF.
2. MODE Button: Press to cycle through input modes: Bluetooth, AUX IN, USB.
3. VOL (-) Button: Press to decrease the volume.
4. Previous Track Button: In Bluetooth/USB mode, press to skip to the previous track.
5. Play/Pause Button: In Bluetooth/USB mode, press to play or pause music.

3.3 Front Panel Indicators

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

4.2 Audio Connections

The HDS-80 soundbar offers multiple ways to connect to your audio sources:

• AUX Input (3.5mm): Use the provided 3.5mm AUX cable to connect your device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, computer) to either the LINE IN 1 or LINE IN 2 jack.
• Optical Input: Connect an optical audio cable (not included) from your TV or other audio source to the OPTICAL input on the soundbar.
• HDMI ARC: Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from your TV's HDMI ARC port to the HDMI ARC input on the soundbar. Ensure your TV's HDMI ARC function is enabled.
• USB Port: Insert a USB flash drive containing audio files into the USB port for direct playback.

4.3 Remote Control Battery Installation

The remote control uses one CR2025 Lithium battery. If the remote is not responding, the battery may need to be installed or replaced.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. If present, remove the plastic pull tab to activate the pre-installed battery.
3. If replacing, slide out the battery tray, insert a new CR2025 battery with the positive (+) polarity facing up, and slide the tray back into the remote control.

Note: The soundbar remote control is packaged with a plastic protection tab. Remove this tab before operating the remote control.

5. Operation

5.1 Powering On/Off

Press the POWER button on the soundbar's side panel or the remote control to turn the unit ON or OFF.

5.2 Adjusting Volume

Press the VOL (+) button to increase the volume or the VOL (-) button to decrease the volume on either the soundbar's side panel or the remote control.

5.3 Mute Function

Press the MUTE button on the remote control to temporarily silence the audio output. Press it again to restore the volume.

5.4 Switching Modes

Press the MODE button on the soundbar's side panel or the remote control to cycle through the available input sources: Bluetooth, AUX IN, Optical, HDMI ARC, and USB.

6. Bluetooth Pairing

Follow these steps to pair your Pure Acoustics HDS-80 soundbar with a Bluetooth-enabled device:

1. Ensure the soundbar is connected to power and turned ON.
2. Press the MODE button on the soundbar or the remote control until the Bluetooth mode is selected. The Bluetooth LED indicator on the front panel will flash blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
3. Keep your Bluetooth device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) within 3 feet (approximately 1 meter) of the soundbar for optimal pairing.
4. On your Bluetooth device, navigate to the Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
5. Search for available devices. The soundbar will appear as "HDS-80" or "Pure Acoustics HDS-80" in the list.
6. Select "HDS-80" or "Pure Acoustics HDS-80" to initiate pairing.
7. If prompted for a password, enter "0000".
8. Upon successful pairing, a confirmation tone will sound, and the Bluetooth LED indicator on the soundbar will turn solid blue.

Note: If you encounter issues, ensure no other devices are actively connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth. If the soundbar was previously paired with another device, it might automatically reconnect. Disconnect from the previous device or put the soundbar into pairing mode again.

7. Wall Mounting

The Pure Acoustics HDS-80 soundbar can be mounted on a wall using the provided screws.

1. Measure a width of 32 inches (approximately 81 cm) on the wall where you intend to mount the soundbar.
2. Mark two points on the wall that are 15.7 inches (approximately 40 cm) apart. These marks will correspond to the mounting holes on the soundbar.
3. Drill pilot holes at the marked points. Insert the provided screws into the holes, leaving approximately 0.3 inches (about 7-8 mm) of the screw head protruding from the wall. This gap is necessary for the soundbar to securely hang.
4. Carefully align the mounting slots on the back of the soundbar with the protruding screw heads and slide the soundbar down to secure it in place.

8. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Pure Acoustics HDS-80 soundbar, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Power: Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the soundbar and a working power outlet.
• No Sound:
  • Check that the soundbar is turned ON and not muted.
  • Verify that the correct input mode (Bluetooth, AUX, Optical, HDMI ARC, USB) is selected.
  • Ensure the volume on both the soundbar and the connected audio source is turned up.
  • Check all audio cables for secure connections and ensure they are not damaged.
• Bluetooth Pairing Issues:

  • Forget the soundbar from your device's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
  • Turn off and on both the soundbar and your Bluetooth device.
• Remote Control Not Working:
  • Check the battery. Replace it if necessary (CR2025).
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the soundbar's infrared sensor.
  • Point the remote directly at the soundbar.

9. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Pure Acoustics HDS-80 soundbar, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the soundbar. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish.
