Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Topeak FrontLoader Bicycle Handlebar Bag. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your new handlebar bag. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure optimal performance and safety.
The Topeak FrontLoader is designed for bikepacking and touring, offering ample storage for light yet bulky items. Its robust construction and waterproof features ensure your gear stays protected during your adventures.
Safety Information
- Ensure the bag is securely mounted to your bicycle's handlebar before riding. Loose bags can interfere with steering and cause accidents.
- Do not overload the bag. Exceeding the recommended weight capacity can affect bicycle handling and stability.
- Distribute weight evenly within the bag to maintain balance.
- Regularly check all straps and buckles for wear and tear, and ensure they remain tightly fastened.
- Be aware that adding a handlebar bag may alter your bicycle's center of gravity and handling characteristics, especially at high speeds or during turns. Practice riding with the loaded bag in a safe environment before extended use.
Package Contents
Upon unpacking, please verify that all components are present:
- Topeak FrontLoader Bikepacking Bag (Harness and Dry Bag)
- NBR Rubber Spacers (various sizes)
- Mounting Straps with Quick Release Buckles
Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your Topeak FrontLoader Bicycle Handlebar Bag:
- Prepare the Handlebar: Ensure your handlebar area is clean and free of obstructions where the bag will be mounted.
- Attach the Harness: Position the main harness unit on your handlebar. Use the provided NBR rubber spacers between the harness and the handlebar to prevent scratching and ensure a snug fit. The spacers also help create clearance for cables.
- Secure the Straps: Wrap the mounting straps around your handlebar and through the quick-release buckles on the harness. Tighten the straps firmly to prevent any movement of the harness. Ensure the buckles are securely latched.
- Load the Dry Bag: Place your items into the included waterproof dry bag. Roll down the ends of the dry bag to seal it, ensuring a watertight closure.
- Insert Dry Bag into Harness: Slide the loaded dry bag into the main harness. Use the compression straps on the harness to secure the dry bag tightly.
- Compress Contents (Optional): If your dry bag is not completely full, you can use the built-in air release button on the dry bag to expel excess air, further compressing the contents and making the bag more compact.

Operating Instructions
The Topeak FrontLoader is designed for ease of use and protection of your gear.
- Loading: The bag offers an 8-liter capacity, ideal for carrying lightweight yet bulky items such as sleeping bags, clothing, or camping gear. Ensure items are packed efficiently within the dry bag.
- Waterproof Protection: The included dry bag has a 10,000 mm waterproof rating. To ensure maximum water resistance, roll the ends of the dry bag at least three times before securing it within the harness.
- Air Release Button: For optimal compression and a more stable load, utilize the built-in air release button on the dry bag. After rolling the dry bag closed, press the button to expel trapped air, reducing the bag's volume.

Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life of your Topeak FrontLoader bag:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the harness and dry bag with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow both the harness and dry bag to air dry completely before storage. Do not expose to direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can degrade materials.
- Storage: Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Inspect Regularly: Periodically check all straps, buckles, and seams for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace components if necessary to ensure continued safety and performance.
Troubleshooting
- Bag feels loose or shifts during riding:
Solution: Re-tighten all mounting straps. Ensure NBR rubber spacers are correctly positioned to provide a firm grip and prevent slippage. Check that the quick-release buckles are fully engaged. - Difficulty compressing contents with air release button:
Solution: Ensure the dry bag is properly rolled and sealed at both ends before attempting to press the air release button. Sometimes, a small amount of air may remain, which is normal. - Water leakage into the dry bag:
Solution: Verify that the dry bag ends are rolled down at least three times and that the buckles are securely fastened. Inspect the dry bag for any punctures or tears. If damaged, the dry bag may need to be replaced.
