Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your RVGUARD 50 Amp 50 Foot RV/EV Extension Cord. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain for future reference.

The RVGUARD 50 Amp 50 Foot RV/EV Extension Cord is a heavy-duty power solution designed for both recreational vehicles (RVs) and electric vehicle (EV) charging. It features NEMA 14-50P (male) and NEMA 14-50R (female) standard connectors, rated for 6250 Watt (125V) and 12500 Watt (250V) applications. Constructed with durable, weather-resistant 6/3+8/1 Gauge STW jacket, this ETL/cETL certified cord includes an LED power indicator and a disconnect handle for ease of use and safety.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, electric shock, serious injury, or death.

  • Always ensure the power source is OFF before connecting or disconnecting the extension cord.
  • Do not use if the cord or connectors are damaged. Inspect regularly for cuts, abrasions, or bent prongs.
  • Do not overload the extension cord. Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the cord's rated capacity (6250W at 125V, 12500W at 250V).
  • Keep the cord away from water, sharp objects, and extreme heat.
  • Do not run the cord through doorways or windows where it can be pinched.
  • Do not drive over the cord with vehicles.
  • Use only for its intended purpose (RV and Level 2 EV charging).
  • Keep children and pets away from the extension cord during use.
  • The disconnect handle is designed to prevent accidental injury and damage. Use it when plugging in and unplugging.

Setup and Connection

  1. Inspect the Cord: Before each use, visually inspect the entire length of the extension cord, including both the male (NEMA 14-50P) and female (NEMA 14-50R) connectors, for any signs of damage, such as cuts, fraying, or bent prongs. Do not use a damaged cord.
  2. Prepare the Power Source: Ensure the circuit breaker for the 50 Amp outlet at your RV pedestal or EV charging station is in the "OFF" position.
  3. Connect to Power Source: Insert the male (NEMA 14-50P) end of the RVGUARD extension cord into the 50 Amp outlet. Ensure a firm connection.
  4. Connect to RV/EV: Insert the female (NEMA 14-50R) end of the RVGUARD extension cord into your RV's power inlet or the Level 2 EV charger's input. Use the integrated disconnect handle for a secure and safe connection.
  5. Secure Connections: For RV applications, twist the female connector to lock it into the RV's power inlet if applicable.
  6. Activate Power: Once both ends are securely connected, switch the circuit breaker at the power source to the "ON" position.
  7. Verify Power: The LED power indicator on the female connector will illuminate green, visually confirming that power is flowing through the cord.
