Setup

1. Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your Youme Power LiPo batteries, carefully inspect them for any signs of damage, swelling, or punctures. Do not use a damaged battery.

2. Charging the Battery

Always charge your LiPo battery using a compatible balance charger. Ensure the charger is set to the correct cell count (6S) and voltage (22.2V). The suggested charge rate is 0.5C-1C (1.65A-3.3A). Never overcharge the battery beyond 4.2V per cell (25.2V total for 6S) and never leave the battery unattended during charging.

  • Connect the XT90 discharge plug to your charger's output.
  • Connect the JST-XH balance plug to the balance port on your charger.
  • Initiate the charging process according to your charger's instructions.
  • Always charge in a fire-safe location, preferably within a LiPo safety bag.

Operating Instructions

1. Connecting to Your Device

Ensure your RC model is compatible with a 6S 22.2V LiPo battery and has an XT90 connector. Carefully connect the battery's XT90 plug to your device's power input, ensuring correct polarity. Incorrect polarity can cause severe damage to the battery and your device.

2. Discharge Guidelines

The battery has a 50C discharge rate, providing high power output for demanding applications. Do not over-discharge the battery below 3.2V per cell (19.2V total for 6S). Over-discharging can permanently damage the battery and reduce its lifespan. Monitor your device's low voltage cut-off settings or use a LiPo alarm.

3. Compatible Applications

These batteries are suitable for various RC hobbies, including RC cars, buggies, trucks, truggies, 600-size helicopters, and similar airplanes like the Trex 60'' Edge 570T-EXP. Always verify that the battery's voltage, weight, dimensions, and plug type match your model's requirements.

Maintenance and Storage

1. Post-Use Care

After each use, allow the battery to cool down before recharging. Avoid leaving the battery fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods. For optimal lifespan, store LiPo batteries at a "storage voltage" (typically 3.8V-3.85V per cell).

2. Storage

Store your LiPo batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is highly recommended to store them in a LiPo safety guard bag to minimize risks in case of an unexpected event.

3. General Safety Precautions

  • Do not puncture, disassemble, or modify the battery.
  • Do not expose the battery to water or fire.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of children and pets.
  • If the battery swells, becomes hot, or shows any signs of damage, immediately discontinue use and dispose of it properly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Battery Not Charging:

Ensure all connections (XT90 and JST-XH balance plug) are secure and correctly oriented. Verify your charger settings match the battery specifications (6S, 22.2V). Try a different charging port or charger if available. Ensure the battery is not severely over-discharged (below 3.2V per cell) as some chargers may refuse to charge such batteries for safety reasons.

  • Reduced Run Time/Capacity:

LiPo batteries can experience reduced capacity over time, especially with improper charging/discharging practices or if stored incorrectly. Ensure you are not over-discharging the battery. Some users report that new batteries may require a few charge/discharge cycles to reach their full advertised capacity. Always use a balance charger to maintain cell health.

  • Battery Swelling:

Battery swelling is a serious safety concern. Immediately discontinue use and safely dispose of the battery. Swelling is often caused by overcharging, over-discharging, physical damage, or excessive heat. Never attempt to charge or use a swollen battery.
