Setup and Assembly
1. Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the 20V MAX Lithium Battery Pack. Refer to the battery charger's instruction manual for detailed charging procedures. Ensure the battery is cool before charging.
2. Attaching the Auxiliary Handle
Slide the auxiliary handle onto the shaft. Adjust its position for comfortable operation and tighten the locking mechanism securely. The handle length is adjustable to suit user height.
3. Installing the Battery Pack
Align the battery pack with the battery port on the cultivator. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is fully seated before operation.
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Operation Check
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Inspect the tines for any damage or debris.
- Clear the work area of any obstacles, large rocks, or roots that could jam the tines.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Starting and Stopping
- To start the cultivator, depress the lock-off button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop the cultivator, release the trigger switch.
3. Cultivating Techniques
- Hold the cultivator firmly with both hands.
- Allow the tines to penetrate the soil gradually. Do not force the tool.
- Move the cultivator slowly and steadily across the area you wish to cultivate. Overlapping passes will ensure thorough soil preparation.
- For deeper cultivation, make multiple passes over the same area.
- If the tines become jammed, release the trigger immediately and remove the battery pack before clearing the obstruction.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- After each use, remove the battery pack.
- Clean the tines and the housing with a stiff brush or damp cloth to remove soil, debris, and plant matter.
- Do not use water directly on the motor housing or battery contacts.
2. Battery Care
- Store the battery pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not store the battery pack fully discharged for extended periods. Charge it periodically if not in use.
- Do not expose the battery pack to water or moisture.
3. Storage
- Store the cultivator in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
- Ensure the tool is clean and dry before storing.
- Remove the battery pack before storing the tool for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
