3. Safety Instructions

To ensure safe operation and prolong the lifespan of your scale, please observe the following safety guidelines:

  • Read this manual thoroughly before initial use and keep it for future reference.
  • Keep the scale away from strong electromagnetic fields, which can affect accuracy.
  • Do not overload the scale beyond its maximum capacity of 30 kg. Overloading can damage the weighing mechanism.
  • Use only the provided power adapter. Using an incorrect adapter may damage the device or pose a safety risk.
  • Avoid exposing the scale to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
  • Clean the scale with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the unit in water.
  • Ensure the scale is placed on a stable, level, and vibration-free surface to guarantee accurate measurements.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage of the scale.

4.2 Power Supply

The scale can be powered by the included 6V/4Ah lead-acid battery or the 9V/300mA power adapter.

  • To use the power adapter, connect it to the scale's power input port (usually located at the rear or side) and then plug it into a suitable power outlet.
  • The internal battery provides up to 100 hours of operation on a full charge. Ensure the battery is charged before first use or if the scale displays a low battery indicator.

4.3 Leveling the Scale

Accurate weighing requires the scale to be perfectly level.

  1. Place the scale on a firm, level surface.
  2. Locate the integrated spirit level (bubble level) on the scale.
  3. Adjust the four adjustable feet at the bottom of the scale by turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise until the bubble in the spirit level is centered within the circle.

5.2 Basic Weighing

  1. Turn on the scale. Ensure the display shows "0.00". If not, press the ZERO button.
  2. Carefully place the item to be weighed on the center of the weighing platform.
  3. Read the stable weight displayed on the LCD screen.

  1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
  2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00".
  3. Place the items to be weighed into the container. The display will now show only the net weight of the items.

5.4 Unit Conversion

To switch between available weighing units (kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb)):

  • Press the UNIT button. The active unit will be indicated on the display (e.g., "kg" or "lb").

5.5 Counting Function

This function is useful for counting a large number of identical items.

  1. Place a known quantity of items (e.g., 10, 20, 50, 100 pieces) on the platform.
  2. Press the COUNT button.
  3. Using the arrow keys (usually UP/DOWN or similar), select the sample quantity you placed (e.g., "10 PCS").
  4. Press ENTER to confirm. The scale is now in counting mode.

5.6 Percentage Function

The percentage function calculates the weight of an item as a percentage of a defined reference weight.

  1. Place the reference item (representing 100%) on the platform.
  2. Press the PERCENT button. The display will show "100%".
  3. Remove the reference item and place the item to be measured. The display will show its weight as a percentage of the reference weight.

6. Calibration

The SBS-TW-30C scale is pre-calibrated at the factory. Recalibration may be necessary if you suspect accuracy issues or after prolonged use.

6.1 Manual Calibration Procedure

You will need a known, accurate calibration weight (not included) for this procedure.

  1. Turn off the scale.
  2. Press and hold the CALI button, then simultaneously press the ON/OFF button until "CAL" appears on the display. Release both buttons.
  3. The display will then show the required calibration weight (e.g., "30.000 kg").
  4. Carefully place the specified calibration weight onto the center of the weighing platform.
  5. Press the ENTER button. The display will show "PASS" briefly and then return to normal weighing mode.
  6. Remove the calibration weight from the platform. The scale is now calibrated.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your scale.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive water. Ensure no liquid enters the scale's interior, especially around the display and buttons.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the scale in a dry, dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: If using battery power, ensure the battery is charged regularly to maintain its lifespan. Avoid completely draining the battery frequently.
  • Platform Care: Keep the stainless steel weighing platform clean and free from scratches or dents, which can affect weighing accuracy.
