5. Operating Instructions
Once installation is complete and power is restored, you can operate your ceiling fan using the pull chains.
5.1 Fan Speed Control
- Locate the pull chain for fan speed control (typically the longer chain).
- Pull the chain once for HIGH speed.
- Pull the chain a second time for MEDIUM speed.
- Pull the chain a third time for LOW speed.
- Pull the chain a fourth time to turn the fan OFF.
5.2 Light Control
- Locate the pull chain for light control (typically the shorter chain).
- Pull the chain once to turn the light ON.
- Pull the chain a second time to turn the light OFF.
5.3 Reversible Airflow Function
Your ceiling fan features a reversible motor for year-round comfort. A switch on the fan motor housing controls the direction of airflow.
- Summer Mode (Downward Airflow): Set the switch to the position that causes the blades to rotate counter-clockwise, creating a downward breeze for a cooling effect.
- Winter Mode (Upward Airflow): Set the switch to the position that causes the blades to rotate clockwise, drawing warm air up and distributing it evenly without creating a direct draft.
Note: Always turn off the fan and ensure the blades have stopped completely before changing the direction of the airflow switch.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ceiling fan.
6.1 Cleaning
- Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the fan blades and motor housing. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- For the crystal shade, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. A mild glass cleaner can be used if necessary, applied to the cloth, not directly to the crystals.
- Periodically check and tighten all screws on the fan blades and mounting hardware.
6.2 Bulb Replacement
- Turn off the power to the fan at the circuit breaker.
- Allow bulbs to cool completely before attempting to replace them.
- Unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new E12 base, 60W maximum incandescent bulb.
- Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
7. Troubleshooting
