Setup
1. Connectivity
Connect the braided USB cable of the R.A.T. PRO X3 mouse to an available USB port on your PC. The mouse is a wired device and does not require batteries.
2. Software Installation (F.L.U.X. Software)
To unlock the full customization potential of your R.A.T. PRO X3, download and install the F.L.U.X. software from the official Mad Catz website. This software is compatible with Windows Operating Systems only. The F.L.U.X. software allows you to:
- Create and manage unlimited user profiles.
- Program buttons with custom functions and macros.
- Customize RGB lighting effects.
- Calibrate mouse surface and lift-off distance.
3. Physical Customization
The R.A.T. PRO X3 offers extensive physical adjustments to optimize comfort and grip. Use the included hex tool to make precise adjustments.
- Palm Rest: Shorten, lengthen, and tilt the palm rest up to 10° using the hex tool. Three different interchangeable styles are provided to suit various grip preferences.
- Thumb and Pinkie Support: Two variations for the thumb rest (standard and wide angle) and three variations for pinkie support (standard, standard with hook, and support) are included. Easily swap these components to find your ideal ergonomic fit.
- Scroll Wheels: Three different scroll wheel options are provided, allowing you to choose based on material and threading preference. The included hex tool can also be used to calibrate the tension of the scroll wheel, enabling freewheel or step-by-step scrolling.
- Glide Feet: Two sets of low-friction glide feet (ceramic and PTFE) are included. These can be interchanged to provide smooth, fast movement across different mousepad surfaces.

Operating Instructions
1. Button Functions
The R.A.T. PRO X3 features multiple programmable buttons for maximum precision and control:
- Left Click: Standard primary mouse button.
- Right Click: Standard secondary mouse button.
- Scroll Wheel: Used for vertical scrolling. Can be customized for tension and material.
- DPI Button: Cycles through pre-set DPI sensitivity levels.
- Forward Button: Navigational button, typically for moving forward in web browsers or applications.
- Backward Button: Navigational button, typically for moving backward in web browsers or applications.
- Precision Button: Instantly increases or decreases sensitivity, ideal for in-game sniping or precise movements.
- Profile Button (underneath): Cycles through the 10 on-board user profiles.

2. DPI Adjustment
The R.A.T. PRO X3 features an adjustable DPI up to 16000, powered by a PIXART PMW3389 Sensor. Use the dedicated DPI button to cycle through your configured DPI settings. Further customization of DPI stages can be done via the F.L.U.X. software.
3. Profile Management
The mouse includes on-board memory capable of storing up to 10 user profiles. These profiles can be configured using the F.L.U.X. software, allowing you to save custom button mappings, DPI settings, and lighting effects. Use the Profile button (located underneath the mouse) to quickly switch between your stored profiles without needing the software running in the background.
4. RGB LED Zones
Personalize your gaming experience with up to 16.8 million customizable colors across the mouse's RGB LED zones. Lighting effects and colors can be configured through the F.L.U.X. software.
5. Scroll Wheel Calibration
The R.A.T. PRO X3 allows for precise calibration of the scroll wheel's tension and speed. Use the included hex tool to adjust the resistance of the scroll wheel to your preference, enabling either a smooth freewheel motion or distinct step-by-step scrolling. This feature, combined with the interchangeable scroll wheel options, provides extensive control over this critical input.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance and longevity of your R.A.T. PRO X3 mouse. Use the included cleaning brush to remove dust and debris from crevices and around buttons. For surface cleaning, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
2. General Care
Store the mouse in its protective travel case when not in use or when transporting it to prevent damage. Avoid exposing the mouse to extreme temperatures or moisture. Ensure the braided cable is not kinked or excessively bent to prevent internal wire damage.

Scroll Wheel Issues
- If the scroll wheel feels loose or too tight, use the hex tool to adjust its tension.
