Operating Instructions
Using for Games and Apps
Once formatted, the Avolusion M2 Series drive will function as an extension of your Xbox console's internal storage. New games and apps will be installed to it by default if you selected that option during setup.
Managing Content
You can manage your installed games and apps through the Xbox dashboard:
- Go to My games & apps.
- Select Manage.
- You can move games and apps between your internal storage and the Avolusion external drive. Select a game or app, choose 'Move or copy', and then select the destination drive.
The drive is optimized for storing and running Xbox games and applications, providing fast access times thanks to its USB 3.0 interface.
Maintenance
Safe Disconnection
To prevent data corruption, always ensure the Xbox console is powered off or the drive is safely ejected through the system settings before physically disconnecting the hard drive.
Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the exterior of the drive with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Store the drive in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the drive to physical shocks, as this can damage the internal components.
Troubleshooting
Drive Not Recognized by Xbox
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the drive and a USB 3.0 port on the Xbox.
- Try connecting the drive to a different USB 3.0 port on your Xbox.
- Restart your Xbox console with the drive connected.
- If the drive was previously used with a PC or formatted for media, it might need to be re-formatted specifically for Xbox games and apps. Navigate to Settings > System > Storage devices and look for the Avolusion drive. If it appears, select it and choose the 'Format' option for games and apps.
Slow Performance or Transfer Speeds
- Ensure the drive is connected to a USB 3.0 port. USB 2.0 ports will result in significantly slower speeds.
- Avoid running multiple demanding applications or transfers simultaneously on your Xbox.
- Ensure the drive is not overheating. Provide adequate ventilation around the drive and console.
Games Not Launching from External Drive
- Verify that the game is fully installed on the external drive.
- Check for any pending Xbox system updates or game updates.
- If issues persist, try moving the game to the internal storage or re-installing it on the external drive.
