5. Installation and Setup

Follow these steps to properly install and set up your UPS:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully unpack the UPS and inspect it for any shipping damage.
  2. Placement: Place the UPS on a flat, stable surface in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid placing it near windows or sources of moisture.
  3. Initial Charge: Connect the UPS's integrated NEMA 5-15P power cord to a grounded 120V AC wall outlet. Allow the UPS to charge for at least 8 hours before connecting any equipment to ensure optimal battery performance. The UPS will charge whether it is turned ON or OFF.
  4. Connecting Equipment: After the initial charge, connect your electronic devices to the NEMA 5-15R outlets on the rear panel. Prioritize critical equipment (e.g., computer, monitor) to the battery backup outlets.
  5. Power On: Press the power button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The LCD display will illuminate, showing the current status.
  6. Communication (Optional): If desired, connect the USB cable from the UPS to your computer for monitoring.

6. Operation

6.1 Turning the UPS On/Off

  • To Turn On: Press and hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds until you hear a beep and the LCD display illuminates.
  • To Turn Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds until the LCD display turns off.

6.2 LCD Display Information

The LCD display provides various operational statuses:

  • Input Voltage: Displays the incoming AC voltage from the wall outlet.

  • Battery replacement should only be performed by qualified service personnel. The battery is a 12V/7Ah sealed lead-acid type.

7.2 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the UPS. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your UPS, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
UPS does not turn on.No AC input power. Battery is discharged.Ensure the power cord is securely connected to a live AC outlet. Allow the UPS to charge for several hours.
UPS beeps continuously (Overload).Too many devices connected.Disconnect non-essential equipment until the alarm stops. Ensure total load is within 600VA/360W.
Short backup time.Battery not fully charged. Battery nearing end of life. Overload.Allow UPS to charge for 8+ hours. Reduce connected load. Consider battery replacement if old.
UPS is in battery mode frequently.Unstable AC input power. This is normal operation for the AVR function. If frequent, check your building's electrical wiring.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact Epcom technical support.
