Setup

Follow these steps to set up your JBL Bar 9.1 system for optimal performance.

1. Placement

  • Soundbar: Place the main soundbar directly below your TV. Ensure it is centered for the best audio experience.
  • Subwoofer: Position the wireless subwoofer anywhere in the room. For optimal bass, try placing it in a corner or near a wall.
  • Detachable Surround Speakers: For true surround sound, detach the wireless speakers from the main soundbar and place them behind your listening position, one on the left and one on the right.

2. Connections

  • Power: Connect the main soundbar and the wireless subwoofer to a power outlet using the provided power cords.
  • HDMI ARC: For the best audio quality and control, connect the soundbar to your TV's HDMI ARC port using the HDMI cable.
  • Optical: If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port, use an optical cable to connect the soundbar to your TV's optical audio output.

3. Initial Power On & Calibration

After connecting all components, power on the soundbar. The system will automatically connect the subwoofer and detachable speakers. Perform the sound calibration process as instructed in the Quick Start Guide to optimize audio for your room's acoustics.

Operating

Learn how to operate your JBL Bar 9.1 system for various audio experiences.

1. Power On/Off & Volume Control

Use the power button on the soundbar or remote control to turn the system on or off. Adjust the volume using the '+' and '-' buttons. The soundbar features a visual indicator for settings changes.

2. Detachable Speaker Usage

The detachable speakers can be used while connected to the main soundbar for regular use, or detached for a true wireless surround sound experience. They charge automatically when reattached to the main soundbar.

3. Bluetooth & Streaming

Pair your mobile device via Bluetooth to stream music wirelessly. The system also supports Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay for seamless music streaming from compatible apps.

  • Battery Care: For the detachable speakers, ensure they are regularly charged by attaching them to the main soundbar or using a micro USB cable. Avoid completely draining the batteries for extended periods.

  • No Power: Ensure all power cords are securely connected to the devices and a working power outlet.

  • No Surround Sound: Confirm the detachable speakers are charged and properly paired with the main soundbar. Re-run the sound calibration if necessary.
  • Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Ensure the soundbar is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Remove the soundbar from your device's Bluetooth list and try pairing again.
