Operating Instructions

Your Rough Country LED Light Bar offers both Daytime Running Light (DRL) functionality and full-power illumination, controlled by a three-way switch.

Three-Way Switch Operation

  • Position I (DRL Mode): Activates the integrated Daytime Running Lights. These LEDs provide enhanced visibility for your vehicle during daylight hours, mimicking modern headlight DRL functions. The DRLs are available in cool white.
  • Position O (Off): Turns the light bar completely off.
  • Position II (Full Output Mode): Activates all 96 high-intensity 5-watt Cree LEDs, providing 43,200 lumens of illumination with a combo spot/flood beam pattern for maximum off-road visibility.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your LED light bar.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the lens with a soft cloth and mild soap and water to remove dirt, mud, and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the polycarbonate lens.
  • Housing: The durable die-cast aluminum housing is designed for maximum strength and heat dissipation. Periodically inspect the housing for any signs of damage or corrosion.
  • Waterproof Rating: The light bar features an IP67 waterproof rating, providing reliable performance in harsh conditions. However, avoid directing high-pressure water jets directly at the light bar for extended periods.
  • Moisture Breather Technology: This technology helps reduce moisture build-up inside the light bar. Ensure the breather is not obstructed.
  • Snap-on Cover: Use the included snap-on cover to protect the lens when the light bar is not in use or during storage, especially from impacts or harsh elements.
  • Hardware Check: As per safety guidelines, regularly check all mounting hardware for tightness.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your light bar, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Light Bar Not Illuminating:
    • Check all electrical connections for proper seating and corrosion.
    • Verify the wiring harness fuse is intact.
    • Ensure the three-way switch is in the correct position (DRL or Full Output).
    • Confirm the vehicle's power source is active.
  • Dim or Flickering Lights:
    • Inspect wiring for loose connections or damage.
    • Check for adequate voltage supply to the light bar.
    • Clean the lens if it is obstructed by dirt or debris.
  • Excessive Wind Noise/Hum:
    • Ensure Noise Silencers are correctly installed and positioned.
    • Verify the light bar is securely mounted and not vibrating.
    • Adjust the mounting angle if possible to reduce aerodynamic drag.
  • Moisture Inside Lens:
    • Ensure the Moisture Breather is clear and unobstructed.
    • If persistent, inspect the housing seals for damage.

For issues not resolved by these steps, or for complex electrical problems, it is recommended to consult a qualified automotive technician.
