4. Setup and Installation
The iSpring RO100 system is designed for straightforward do-it-yourself installation, typically completed within a couple of hours. Comprehensive installation videos and a detailed manual are provided to guide you through the process.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Verify all components listed in Section 3 are present and undamaged.
- Ensure you have the necessary tools: drill, adjustable wrench, utility knife, and a bucket.
- Confirm adequate space under your sink for the filter unit (14.5" L x 5.25" W x 17" H) and the storage tank (11" diameter x 11" H).
- Locate the cold water supply line and the drain pipe under the sink.
4.2 Installation Steps (General Overview)
For detailed, step-by-step instructions, refer to the included installation manual and videos. The following is a general sequence of tasks:
- Turn Off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the cold water supply valve under your sink.
- Install Feed Water Adapter: Connect the feed water adapter to your cold water line.
- Mount Faucet: Drill a hole in your sink or countertop (if not pre-drilled) and install the RO faucet.
- Mount Filter Assembly: Secure the main filter unit to the cabinet wall under your sink using the provided mounting bracket.
- Connect Tubing: Connect the various colored tubing lines to the appropriate ports on the filter unit, storage tank, faucet, and drain saddle. For leak-free connections, push tubing 1/2 inch deep into quick-fitting connectors and secure them with the locking clips.
- Install Drain Saddle: Attach the drain saddle to the drain pipe under your sink.
- Install Filters: Unwrap and insert the filter cartridges into their respective housings. Ensure the clear first-stage housing is securely tightened.
- System Flush: Perform the initial system flush as described in Section 5.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and flushed, your iSpring RO100 system operates automatically, providing purified water on demand. The system does not require electricity for its filtration process.
5.1 Initial System Flush
Before consuming water from the system, it is essential to perform an initial flush to remove air, carbon fines, and sanitize the system:
- After completing installation, slowly turn on the cold water supply.
- Open the RO faucet and allow the water to run until it stops, completely draining the storage tank. This may take several minutes.
- Close the RO faucet and allow the storage tank to refill completely. This typically takes 35-45 minutes.
- Repeat the draining and refilling process at least two more times. This ensures all air is purged from the system and filters are properly conditioned.
5.2 Daily Use
Once the initial flush is complete, your system is ready for daily use. Simply open the RO faucet to dispense clean, filtered water. The 100 GPD RO membrane ensures a fast flow rate, providing ample water for drinking and cooking.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance, primarily filter replacement, is essential to ensure your iSpring RO100 system continues to provide optimal performance and high-quality drinking water.
6.1 Filter Replacement Schedule
The following table outlines the recommended replacement intervals for each filter stage. Actual replacement frequency may vary based on your water quality and usage.
| Filter Stage | Filter Type | Recommended Replacement |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | PP Sediment Filter | Up to 12 months |
| Stage 2 | GAC Filter | Up to 12 months |
| Stage 3 | CTO Carbon Block Filter | Up to 12 months |
| Stage 4 | RO Membrane (MC1US) | Up to 3 years |
| Stage 5 | Post Carbon Filter (FT15US) | Up to 12 months |
Note: The clear first-stage housing allows for visual inspection of the sediment filter, helping you determine if an earlier replacement is needed due to heavy sediment accumulation.

6.2 General Care
- Periodically check all connections for any signs of leaks. Address any leaks immediately by tightening connections or replacing faulty parts.
- Keep the area around the system clean and free from clutter to ensure proper ventilation and easy access for maintenance.
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the system or storage tank.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your iSpring RO100 system and provides general solutions.
7.1 Low Water Flow from Faucet
- Check Tank Pressure: Ensure the storage tank is not empty. If empty, allow time for it to refill.
- Tank Valve: Verify the valve on top of the storage tank is fully open.
- Water Supply: Confirm the cold water supply to the system is fully open.
- Clogged Filters: Filters, especially the sediment and carbon filters, can become clogged over time. Replace filters according to the recommended schedule or if water flow significantly decreases. The RO membrane can also cause low flow if it's at the end of its lifespan.
7.2 Unusual Taste or Odor
- Initial Flush: Ensure the system has been properly flushed after installation or filter replacement (refer to Section 5.1).
- Post Carbon Filter: The post carbon filter is responsible for final polishing of the water. If taste or odor issues persist, this filter may need replacement.
- RO Membrane: A compromised RO membrane can allow contaminants to pass through. If other filters are new and issues persist, consider replacing the RO membrane.
7.3 Leaks
- Identify Source: Immediately turn off the water supply to the system. Locate the source of the leak.
- Tubing Connections: For quick-fitting connectors, ensure the tubing is fully inserted and the locking clip is securely in place. Re-cut the end of the tubing if it appears damaged or uneven.
- Filter Housings: Ensure filter housings are hand-tightened securely. Check that O-rings are properly seated and not pinched or damaged.
- Faucet Base: Check the connections at the base of the RO faucet.
