  3. Filling the Water Tank:
    • Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet.
    • Open the water tank cap (5).
    • Fill the water tank (6) with clean tap water. The tank has a capacity of 1.8 liters. Do not overfill.

  7. First Use Steam: For the first use, or after a long period of non-use, it is recommended to iron an old cloth for a few minutes to clear any residue from the steam vents.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Temperature and Steam Adjustment

The ergonomic temperature control dial (1) allows for precise adjustment based on fabric type:

  • Low Temperature: For delicate fabrics like silk, synthetics.
  • Medium Temperature: For wool, cotton blends.
  • High Temperature: For linen, denim, and other robust cottons.

Adjust the dial to the appropriate setting for your garment. Wait for the heating lamp (2) to indicate the iron has reached the set temperature before proceeding.

5.2. Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the steam button lock (4) is disengaged and the steam button (3) is not pressed. Set the temperature dial to the desired setting and iron as usual.

5.3. Steam Ironing

For steam ironing, ensure the water tank is filled. Set the temperature dial to a steam-appropriate setting (usually medium to high, indicated on the dial). Once the iron is hot enough, press the steam button (3) for a burst of steam. For continuous steam, engage the steam button lock (4).

5.4. Vertical Steam Function

The vertical steam function is ideal for steaming hanging garments, curtains, or drapes. Hold the iron vertically, close to the fabric, and press the steam button (3) to release steam. Do not allow the soleplate to touch the fabric directly when using vertical steam on delicate items.

5.5. After Ironing

  • Turn off the power switch (8).
  • Unplug the power cord (7) from the electrical outlet.
  • Allow the iron to cool down completely before storing.
  • Empty any remaining water from the tank if the iron will not be used for an extended period.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your steam iron station.

  • Cleaning the Soleplate: If the soleplate becomes stained, clean it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metallic or abrasive scouring pads.
  • Self-Cleaning Function: The iron is equipped with a self-cleaning system. Refer to the specific instructions for activating this function, usually by filling the tank, heating the iron, and then pressing a dedicated self-clean button or setting the dial to a self-clean position over a sink. This helps remove mineral deposits from the steam vents.
  • Anti-Calc System: The integrated anti-calc system helps reduce limescale buildup. However, in areas with very hard water, periodic manual descaling may still be necessary. Consult a qualified technician if severe limescale issues persist.
  • Anti-Drip System: This system prevents water from dripping from the soleplate when the iron is not hot enough for steam. If dripping occurs, ensure the iron has reached the correct temperature for steam generation.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the iron and base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the cooled iron in an upright position on its base, in a dry and safe place.
