Maintenance
Replacing Toner Cartridges
When a toner cartridge is low or empty, the printer's display will indicate which cartridge needs replacement. Follow the steps outlined in the "Installing Toner Cartridges" section to replace the old cartridge with a new Original HP Toner cartridge. Using non-HP chips or circuitry may cause the printer to malfunction.
Cleaning the Scanner Glass
To ensure optimal scan and copy quality, regularly clean the scanner glass. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or spraying cleaner directly onto the glass. Wipe the glass until it is clean and dry.
Troubleshooting
Printer Offline Issue
If your printer shows as "offline" but is powered on, try the following steps:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Restart the printer by powering it off and then on again.
- Check your computer's printer settings to ensure the correct printer is selected and not paused.
- Verify your network connection (router/modem) is functioning correctly.
Print Quality Issues
If print quality is poor (streaks, faded colors, etc.):
- Check toner levels via the control panel or HP Smart app.
- Ensure you are using Original HP Toner cartridges.
- Perform a print quality diagnostic from the printer's settings menu.
