Setup

Initial Setup

Unpack the printer and remove all packing materials. Place the printer on a stable, flat surface. Connect the power cord to the printer and a wall outlet. For initial setup, it is recommended to connect the printer to your computer via the provided USB cable or directly to your network via Ethernet for a stable connection.

Connecting to Network (Wi-Fi / Ethernet)

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M182nw supports dual-band Wi-Fi for reliable wireless connectivity and also features a built-in Ethernet port for wired connections. For wireless setup, use the HP Smart app on your mobile device or follow the on-screen prompts on the printer's control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Installing Toner Cartridges

The printer comes with introductory toner cartridges. To install or replace them, open the front access door of the printer. Pull the blue lever to slide out the toner cartridge drawer. Insert the cartridges into their corresponding color slots (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). Push the drawer back in until it clicks into place, then close the front access door.

Loading Paper

The paper tray is located at the bottom of the unit. Gently pull out the paper tray. Adjust the paper guides to fit the size of your paper (supports letter, legal, executive, Oficio, 4x6 in, 5x8 in, A4, A5, A5-R, A6, B5, B6, 16K, Postcard, Double Postcard, Envelopes). Load the paper into the tray, ensuring it is aligned with the guides. Push the paper tray back into the printer until it is fully seated.

Operating Instructions

Basic Printing

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M182nw offers fast print speeds of up to 17 pages per minute (ppm) for both color and monochrome documents. Send print jobs from your computer or mobile device. Ensure the printer is connected to the network or via USB. Select the printer from your device's print dialog and adjust settings as needed before printing.

Scanning

Place documents on the scanner glass or use the automatic document feeder (if available on your specific model). You can initiate scans directly from the printer's control panel or through the HP Smart app on your mobile device. The scanner supports various document sizes and resolutions.

Copying

Place the document on the scanner glass. Use the printer's control panel to select the copy function. You can adjust settings such as the number of copies, color/monochrome, and quality before initiating the copy process. The printer offers a max copy speed of 16 ppm for black & white.

Mobile Printing with HP Smart App

The HP Smart app provides a seamless mobile printing experience. You can set up your printer, manage print jobs, receive notifications, and print and scan on the go. The app also allows you to automate repetitive tasks and organize documents faster with Smart Task shortcuts.

Maintenance

Replacing Toner Cartridges

When a toner cartridge is low or empty, the printer's display will indicate which cartridge needs replacement. Follow the steps outlined in the "Installing Toner Cartridges" section to replace the old cartridge with a new Original HP Toner cartridge. Using non-HP chips or circuitry may cause the printer to malfunction.

Cleaning the Scanner Glass
