Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your new Wildberries water filter:

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the water shut-off valve for your refrigerator and turn it off. This prevents leaks during filter replacement.
  2. Remove Old Filter: Open your refrigerator door. Locate the filter housing, typically in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment. Twist the old filter counter-clockwise to unlock it, then pull it straight out. Be prepared for a small amount of water to drip.
  3. Prepare New Filter: Remove the protective cap from the new Wildberries filter.
  4. Insert New Filter: Align the new filter with the filter housing. Push the filter straight into the housing until it stops, then twist it clockwise until it locks into place. You should feel it secure.
  5. Turn on Water Supply: Turn the refrigerator's water supply valve back on.
  6. Flush the System: Dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the refrigerator's dispenser to flush out air and carbon fines. This ensures clear, fresh-tasting water.
  7. Reset Filter Indicator: Refer to your refrigerator's display panel for instructions on how to reset the filter indicator light. Typically, this involves pressing and holding a 'Filter Reset' or 'Water Filter' button for 3 seconds.

Troubleshooting

  • Cloudy Water or Black Specks: This is usually caused by carbon fines from the new filter. Flush the system with 2-3 gallons of water until the water runs clear. This is normal and harmless.
  • Reduced Water Flow: A reduced flow rate often indicates a clogged filter that needs replacement. Ensure the filter is installed correctly and replace it if the issue persists.
  • Leaking: Check that the filter is properly seated and twisted securely into the housing. Ensure the O-rings on the filter are intact and not damaged. Turn off the water supply, remove, and re-install the filter if necessary.
  • Air Bursts/Spitting Water: This can occur if air is trapped in the system. Continue flushing the filter with water until the air is expelled and the water stream is steady.
