Setup

1. Powering the Keyboard

The HHKB Professional Hybrid Type-S can be powered via USB-C or 2x AA batteries for wireless operation.

  • Wired Connection: Connect the supplied USB-C cable from the keyboard to your computer.
  • Wireless Connection: Insert 2x AA batteries into the battery compartment located on the underside of the keyboard. Ensure correct polarity.

2. Bluetooth Pairing

The keyboard supports multi-pairing with up to 4 Bluetooth devices.

  1. Ensure the keyboard is powered on (either via USB-C or batteries).
  2. Press and hold the Fn key and one of the Control + 1, Control + 2, Control + 3, or Control + 4 keys to select a pairing slot. The LED indicator will flash.
  3. On your device (PC, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "HHKB-Hybrid" from the list and follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing.
  5. To switch between paired devices, press Fn + Control + [1-4] corresponding to the desired device slot.

3. DIP Switch Settings
