Operating Instructions

The PowerXL Cordless Iron and Steamer Deluxe offers both dry ironing and steam ironing capabilities, along with vertical steaming.

Dry Ironing

  1. Ensure the water tank is empty for dry ironing.
  2. Place the iron on its power base.
  3. Set the Steam Control Dial to the "Dry Iron" setting (usually indicated by a crossed-out steam icon).
  4. Select the desired temperature using the Temperature Control Dial according to the fabric type.
  5. Allow the iron to heat up on the base until the indicator light turns off, signaling it has reached the set temperature.
  6. Remove the iron from the base and begin ironing. Return the iron to the base periodically to maintain heat.

Steam Ironing

  1. Fill the water tank as described in the Setup section.
  2. Place the iron on its power base.
  3. Set the Temperature Control Dial to a steam-appropriate setting (usually indicated by steam icons or higher temperature settings). Steam will not be generated at low temperatures.
  4. Set the Steam Control Dial to the desired steam level.
  5. Allow the iron to heat up on the base until the indicator light turns off.
  6. Remove the iron from the base and begin ironing. Steam will be emitted from the soleplate. Return the iron to the base periodically to reheat.
  7. For an extra burst of steam, press the Steam Burst Button. This is useful for stubborn wrinkles.

Vertical Steaming

The vertical steam function is ideal for removing wrinkles from hanging garments, drapes, and upholstery.

  1. Fill the water tank.
  2. Place the iron on its power base.
  3. Set the Temperature Control Dial to the MAX setting.
  4. Set the Steam Control Dial to the maximum steam setting.
  5. Allow the iron to heat up on the base until the indicator light turns off.
  6. Hold the iron vertically, about 1-2 inches away from the fabric. Press the Steam Burst Button repeatedly to release powerful bursts of steam.
  7. Return the iron to the base periodically to reheat.

Ironing a Pair of Pants (Demonstration)

This section illustrates a method for ironing dress pants using the PowerXL Cordless Iron and Steamer Deluxe, as demonstrated in product videos. This technique helps achieve sharp creases and a smooth finish.

Figure 3: Ironing pants with the PowerXL Cordless Iron.

  1. Align Creases: Hold the pants by the waist and align the inner and outer seams of one leg to create a sharp crease. Allow the weight of the fabric to help align the creases.
  2. Peel Back Top Pantleg: Lay the pants flat on the ironing board. Peel back the top pantleg, allowing it to rest off the board, exposing the bottom leg.
  3. Sharpen Creases with Steam: Using the PowerXL iron, apply 3 puffs of steam along the length of the exposed crease (bottom, middle, top). Repeat for the other side of the same pantleg. This sets the crease.
  4. Iron Pantleg: Using the precision tip of the iron, iron down the length of the pantleg, following the established crease. Then iron back up.
  5. Flip Pantleg and Repeat: Flip the pantleg over and repeat steps 3 and 4 on the other side to ensure both sides are equally pressed.
  6. Switch Legs and Repeat Process: Take the pants off the board, switch the legs, and repeat steps 1-5 for the second pantleg.
  7. Slide One Leg Over Ironing Board: For the top and back sections, slide one pantleg over the narrow end of the ironing board.
  8. Iron Back and Pockets: Iron around the pockets and the back of the pantleg, ensuring all areas are smooth. Since these are flat-front pants, there's no need to worry about creating a crease in these areas.
  9. Repeat on Other Side: Flip the pants and repeat step 8 for the other side.
  10. Iron Front and Steam Beltline: Iron the front of the pants. Use the vertical steam function to steam the beltline and any remaining areas while holding the pants up.

Note: Official product videos demonstrating ironing techniques would be embedded here if provided by the seller.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Soleplate

  • Allow the iron to cool completely.
  • Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
  • Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh cleaners as they can scratch the soleplate.

Self-Cleaning Function (Anti-Calc)

The self-clean function helps remove mineral deposits from the steam chamber.

  1. Fill the water tank to the MAX line.
  2. Place the iron on its power base and set the Temperature Control Dial to MAX.
  3. Once the iron reaches maximum temperature, unplug it from the outlet.
  4. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Press and hold the Self-Clean Button. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, flushing out impurities.
  5. Continue holding the button until the water tank is empty.
  6. Move the iron back and forth to ensure all water is expelled.
  7. Allow the iron to cool completely before storing.

Storage

  • Empty the water tank after each use.
  • Allow the iron to cool completely before storing.
  • Store the iron upright on its power base in a safe, dry place.
