4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Place the RCD-W500C on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

4.2 Connecting Audio Cables

Connect the RCD-W500C to your amplifier or receiver using the supplied RCA audio cables. For digital audio connections, use an optical cable (not supplied) to connect the DIGITAL OUT port to your receiver's digital input.

To record from external sources, connect the audio output of your source device (e.g., cassette deck, turntable pre-amp) to the ANALOG IN or DIGITAL IN ports on the rear panel of the RCD-W500C.

4.3 Power Connection

After all audio connections are made, plug the power cord into the AC IN socket on the rear of the unit, then into a standard wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Playback (5-CD Changer)

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button for the 5-CD changer (Deck A) to open the disc tray.
3. Place up to five CDs onto the disc tray, ensuring they are seated correctly with the label side up.
4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray.
5. Press the PLAY button (►) to begin playback. Use the DISC SKIP buttons to select a specific disc.

5.2 Recording CDs

The RCD-W500C allows recording from the 5-CD changer (Deck A) to the recording deck (Deck B), or from an external source connected to the input terminals.

1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button for the recording deck (Deck B) and place a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc onto the tray. Close the tray.
2. Select the input source using the INPUT button (e.g., ANALOG, OPTICAL, or Deck A for dubbing).
3. For dubbing from Deck A, load the source CD into the 5-CD changer.
4. Press the REC button to enter recording standby mode. The REC indicator will flash.
5. Press PLAY (►) on the source (Deck A or external device) and then press REC again on Deck B to start recording. For high-speed dubbing, select 4x HIGH SPEED DUBBING if available.
6. To stop recording, press the STOP (■) button.
7. After recording, press the FINALIZE button to make the recorded disc playable on other CD players. Follow the on-screen prompts.

5.3 Using the Remote Control

The supplied remote control (RM-R52) provides convenient access to all functions from a distance. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted. Point the remote control directly at the unit's remote sensor.

6.1 Cleaning the Unit

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent solution, then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints. Store discs in their cases to prevent scratches and dust accumulation. Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
