3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the handle.
  2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The thermometer is ready for use once batteries are installed.

The thermometer typically has a mode button to switch between Body Temperature mode and Surface Temperature mode. Refer to the device's specific buttons for mode selection.

4.3 Taking a Temperature Reading

  1. Ensure the thermometer is in the desired mode (Body or Surface).
  2. Point the thermometer's probe at the center of the forehead for body temperature, or at the object for surface temperature, maintaining a distance of 1-5 cm.
  3. Press the measurement button (trigger).
  4. The temperature reading will be displayed on the screen within approximately 1 second.
  5. For body temperature, the backlight color will indicate the temperature range:
    • Blue: Normal temperature (e.g., 95.9-99.1°F / 35.5-37.3°C)
    • Orange: Sight fever (e.g., 99.3-100.4°F / 37.4-38.0°C)
    • Red: High fever (e.g., 100.6-109.4°F / 38.1-43.0°C)

4.4 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

Locate the °C/°F switch button, usually found near the display or on the side of the device. Press it to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit units.

4.5 Memory Recall

Press the "Memory" button (often labeled "M") to view previous temperature readings. Repeated presses will cycle through stored measurements.
